I'm living in Northeast Arkansas and bought a Model 10-5 last year on the general principle that I ought to have at least one reliable, accurate handgun at the house. Being a bookish sort, I began to research Smith and Wessons which led me to this forum. Much appreciate the information here.

Trouble began (I think) when I went back to the LGS a week after getting the Model 10. There was a lonely Model 36 round butt with a 3" barrel. Such a pretty wallflower, I just had to rescue it. All OK so far.

I think the Model 10-5 has no morals. It must have corrupted that sweet, virgin Model 36 cause I just looked in on 'em. The Model 10-5 had invited his brother, a Model 10-8 to move in. What's worse, the RB Model 36 has had children: A 2" RB Model 36, a RB 3" Model 36 and two (Two!) 3" SB Model 36-1s.

If those damn revolvers think I'm gonna let them bring in their friend, the pristine Model 14 that's down the street ...

Is there some kind of planned parenthood for Smith and Wessons?

Glad to have you here-- sounds like you're in the right place. Whatever you do, don't get the Standard Catalogue! Reading it will lead to all manner of population explosion in the safe. I'm already trying to figure out where I can put a second one, 'cause the first one got full after I bought that accursed book.

Wait! ... What? ... A second safe? Why wasn't I informed of this before getting that Model 10?

Thanks for the heads up about that "accursed" book. Too bad your advice about the book came too late -- was forced to install a *second* bookcase already!
