Hi All,

New guy from the downstate NY area. Still trying to figure out how to navigate the site (find the answers rather than ask them all over again).

I'm a lefty and really like the way S&W makes the ambidextrous pistols. Considering purchasing the Bodyguard.380 and (down the road) the M&P Compact .40.

Can anyone out there tell me whether the .380 is ambi (or whether it can be switched up)? My mother-in-law always tells me that being a lefty is a handicap. As much as I hate to agree with her on anything, she's got a point when it comes to guns...

Welcome from Texas kawibunga. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

I can relate to left handed shooting issues.

Due to a spot on my right eye, I am relearning to shoot left handed with long guns. Handguns are not an issue as I shoot with both eyes open.

Lefties are at a disadvantage for sure.

Hello kawibunga & a big WELCOME ABOARD from Michi-Gun!

I get the best search results when using the "google site" search option from the drop down menu located at the top of the forum pages. Just under the main logo, you can't miss it!!

Welcome from the Capital Region of New York. Where in the downstate area are you?

Enjoy the site. Lots of good folks and good information.

David

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! FYI- to DSBock, I'm downstate- just above the Bronx.

I have 2 rifles (including a new M&P 15 which I am REAL happy with). I enjoy shooting, but I'm not as knowledgeable as most of the people here. Getting some great info from the threads. I travel for my side-business at odd hours to even odder places, so I'm shopping for a concealed weapon for personal protection. Because I'm just an occasional weekend target shooter, I need to learn a bit about pistols/revolvers. Whenever possible, I prefer to shop American-made. I also like S&W because they seem to accommodate lefty's. Between these Forum Boards and a few buddies of mine who are cops, I'm hoping to make the right decision.
