Highway Patrolman Question

If it's a Model 28 and it's in decent shape, $350 is a deal these days. Funny -- 5 years ago you'd do well to get $250 around here for a M28. I've got a minty one that cost me $225. Nowadays, $350 will get you a near-junker, and a nice one -- well, they're higher!

In California a model 28 runs $400.00 for a beat up one to $625.00 for a safe queen. I picked up one that is a great shooter looks good but not a safe queen for $595.00. The model 28 has gone up because the model 27 is now in the $750.00 to $800.00 bracket in California. Here is my 28-2 4 inch. Best shooter for 357 magnums I have.

Thanks for the data point, roaddog. I just paid the same price--$595--here in Oregon for this 6", "Wash. State Patrol"-marked 28-2 with a little holster wear and slightly chipped target grips that are probably replacements. Seemed like a good deal in comparison to the other internet prices I found, but the forums are full of stories of deals like mhg2tld and pisgah got. Maybe someday...

Nice find, non model marked four screw and a four inch to boot! I have a non model marked, four screw six inch with matching number grips, found it last year marked as a M-28 for $299.00. Your's would make a nice compainion piece for my six inch. Included a few pics of it. Enjoy your new six-gun!

WOW Bob. What a deal you found. I would absolutely love to have numbered grips like yours for mine. Mine came with Hogue rubber grips on it. Service grips are long gone unfortunately. I am looking around now to find grips like yours is wearing. I really like the way they look on the N frame guns.
