We just bought his and hers shields in 9mm yesterday. They are the ones without the thumb safety. I wish I could tell you how much we like them but we are in California and we have a 10 day "cooling off" period.
Sorry, I didn't take pics when we bought them.

Thanks, stopped by your gun store today between SF and Sac and they had your pair 9's out in the rental case, so i put a few hundred down range for you to help break em in................... just need to clean them after you pick em up!

Congratulations on the twins!

Too funny. I hope you enjoyed them. Not sure how you know the this store has a range but I'll be sure to do an extra special cleaning when we pick them up. Thanks again for the QC. ;)

Congratulations! Can't beat the Shields. Do both of you have your CCW's? What holsters will you be getting?

Congratulations!! I have the same pistol in jail to go with my thumb safety, shark fin California approved pistol. Get to pick mine up next week.

Congrats. I have a no safety in 9 as well.

Stevie-ca: you going to keep the shark fin?

I learned early on that if she likes what I want to buy, it's best to get two. This happened when I was building an AR. We also have his and hers ARs.

you'll love the shield.

i have a her shield in 9mm that turned into a hi shield in 9mm because i bought a his shield in .40 s&w that turned into a her shield. she shoots it better so she carries that one.

Man... 10 days... must be agony.

I got my Shield in 10 minutes here in Texas :D

I wanted the NTS, but I went ahead and took the thumb safety since there are some nights it'll sit under the pillow my dog sleeps on and I can flip that safety on the draw without hesitation.

You're gonna love them either way, 10 days or not.

Yeah, here in CA it's getting more and more difficult to buy a handgun. I have a bed side holster for my FS M&P

We picked up our Shields today. TRP (Tracy Rifle and Pistol) has a range so we shot them after the jail break. I've never had the opportunity to shoot at an indoor range so this was a first. I really like the ability to chose your distance. We shot 5, 7, and 10 yards.
So back to the Shield. I had expected significantly more recoil from this gun than our full size and compact. I actually think it recoils less. It was very controllable and easy to get back on target. TRP only allows one shot per second so I kept my shots to that. Again, very controllable and easy to get back on target.
I will say this about an indoor range with no cease fires, you can go through a lot of ammo really fast.
M&P Shield 9mm no thumb safety, I recommend it.

I bought a pair of 9mm Shields in May of 2013 and gave them to my daughter and daughter-in-law. They are two serial numbers apart. So far there have been about 1,500 rounds put through the pair with no problems.

I had hoped to get consecutive serial numbers but the day we bought them the store was really busy. I didn't feel good about asking the sales person to try to find consecutive numbers.
