Dear Smith and Wesson Forum after reading a couple of posts about suspenders on this Forum i have a holster rig idea using them. basically here is my idea the gun would be in horitzontal position so the wearer would have to use there hand to reach across there chest to draw the gun and the extra ammunition pouch would be on the on the opposite suspenders strap also in the horizontal position. any and all thoughts ideas and opinions of this idea would be appreciated sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the Smith and Wesson Forum

I think it would work because I have clipped my KelTec P3AT in its IWB Bianchi Pro 100 onto my left side bra strap, under my shirt. The gun is tucked under my arm. I just reach into the neckline for it.

Seems a bit complicated. May be easier simply to buy a shoulder holster that offers that same set-up. I have one for my semi-auto that is just as you describe. 'Course that has a mag pouch and handcuff holder on the off side but the holster is horizontal.

Your concept would also require (?) the suspenders be leather or some other non-stretch material. Fairly sure elastic would NOT work.

Be safe.

My Boss is a, uhm, "large lady". I kid you not, she keeps her cell phone, car keys, ID badge, and money in her bra. She reaches in there to get things all the time. She could easily add a handgun under there and you'd never know.

Geez Barb, that's a great idea! I already have "A" cup (maybe "B") man boob's so a "C" cup bra will probably work great. This is Key West, nobody would give a second look!:D

Basically you are describing any nylon shoulder holster. They do double as suspenders since they require you to snap around your belt or belt loop.

Just don't wear a belt and suspenders. It is like a fanny pack nothing says armed faster than a fanny pack or belt and suspenders. sorry guys with bellies you can be exempt. No insult intended, just years of experience and good eyes...

I live in a small enough town that most everyone knows I am always armed. I have several LEO friends that live nearby that stop in just to shoot the bull, never say a word about my OC pistol except to maybe say they prefer their Glock to my SW40VE. I wear a vest most times, or shirts that are too big, or when its really freakin hot a fanny pack. Let people guess that I am probably carrying, no problem. I really don't think that people pay all that much attention to other people unless they have something that makes them stand out. Since I don't have multiple face piercings or bright pink hair, I'm probably not that noticeable.

On an old west show hosted by David Carradine - they showed a suspenders / holster setup. It was for a very small handgun - derringer I think.

I like that idea - if you work something out please post pic's.

A belt and suspenders does not scream gun...it screams "no ass."

Sorry Sip you are right. Every year the ass goes and I don't have the foggyist idea ware it goes...Same weight just no ass. 32 waist but those Levies just seem to slip lower each day...I will no longer make fun of the "Pants on the Ground song"
