horde of zombies

It doesen't matter, any sort of gun will work. RG .22 short, whatever.
Just wear a "Lord Voldamort* T shirt". They will think you are one of the horde until it's too late.

Fortunately, since Zombies don't exist, this is a problem I'll never have to worry about so I can just move on to the next problem.

Everyone knows Rid-x is not only great for septic tanks, but is soveriegn against Zombies. Its a little slow acting, but does a thorough job.

Grap the Galil with a bag of 35 round mags and the Glock 17 with all the extra mags from the safe. By that time wife has the AR with stack of mags.

M1 Garand, M&P9c, and as many bandoliers of Garand en bloc clips and 17 round M&P magazines as I can carry.

But I agree with the earlier posts about suppressed weapons. Firing an unsuppressed weapon will give away your position and quite possibly attract more zombies to your location. A suppressed .22, .223, or 9mm carbine would be ideal.

'When in doubt, call for an airstrike!' There's nothing like Napalm to solve a problem. High explosives will pockmark the driveway.
If not available an M40a1 for distance or an M249 SAW or even an M60 with lots of linked belts would do. A 1911 for up close and personal.

Napalm, explosives, and fragmentation will not necessarily terminate a zombie. They feel no pain and are not stopped by the loss of limbs or excessive amounts of blood. You must incapacitate the brain. Using airstrikes, artillery, explosives, or machine guns will only result in charred zombies, riddled with holes and missing some chunks or extremities, continuing to advance on your position. ;)

Well, lets see, the carry gun is already holstered and on my person.
1.Winchester 12 ga that un plugged and loaded with buckshot.
2.AR in .223 with 30 round mags.

Same thing as many problems, our old friend the M4 carbine and its clones ought suffice. Hopefully one has one that works and an adequate supply of ammunition. This would be a situation where one of the ACOGs that's 4X but has the Docter red dot piggy bagged would likely come into its own.

I actually have a PVS14 (you aren't paranoid until you get one), so use Aimpoints and a C-More (which while not advertised as NVG compatible seems to work on the lowest setting) for the time being. Ideally, you'd want to suppress your weapon. Even if zombies are deaf as a post, it'll protect your hearing and hide the muzzle flash. If you can afford one, you'd want a PVS14 or better so that the night would be less scary.

A tricked out M4 clone ought suffice until it jams on you or you over heat it. That's when one of the "offensive" flash hiders or your bayonet might be useful after all.

I opted for a G34 as a niche handgun for rainy days. It's no larger than a full size 1911 and a good deal lighter. The longer barrel gives a bit more velocity and the G34 seems to hit a magic sweet spot for Glock goodness.

Fortified in my home that changes things a bit. If I have to flee my home then it would be my MK II ruger SP. and another 22 rifle AR w/22 conversion with tons of ammo, stealth mode. While at home I would clean out all 50 BMG one shot would slow a bunch of them down. Then the 500 and 460. Man what a mess. Now we get to the 22 250 for some target practice. The possibilities are endless.

Zombies ugghhh..hate em

Fortunetly in this scenerio, all those friends that used to make fun of me for being prepared for the Zombie/Communist invasion, I am prepared.
Prestaged gear and full load:
1. AR-15 (rock river arms mild additions) in chest harness 30rd mag x 10)
2. Glock 17 in shooting belt (night sights, skateboard tape on grips) 17rd mags x 6)
3. Camelback with 1-3 days emergency gear.
figure it'll be a heck of a fight and if I run out of ammo...I should have been moving to the next safe spot anyways.

Bring It ya Dern Zombies!

Zombies....

Nothing brings 'em out like a good Zombie thread.... it's been that way around here for nearly 10 years now.

No wonder why you have to keep moving.... I just wonder who's gonna clean up the mess?

But I have a question for all you Zombiephiles.... if a Person is bitten, but not completely eaten by a Zombie they become a Zombie, right?

What about if a Zombie gets zapped and in turn is eaten by a Crow, Vulture or Seagull?

Do they become Zombirds?

That prospect should add another dimension to your paranoia and planning.... you now need AA support. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you M247, "Sgt. York".

Cancelled in 1985, this is a system in need of a mission. With software upgrades it should be perfect for Robotic Zombird Suppression, (RZBS)

After which of course there is a Colossus / Forbin Project tie in when they all the M247 DIVAD/RZBS became self-aware and turn into Terminators.

So it's Zombirds vs. AI DIVADS.... Gator, how's this for the plot of your next book? :)
