And this is my constant little friend:

6" 629-1 with smooth target grips. IMHO these are some of the
finest looking grips S&W ever issued (the whole line that is).
Mid 1980's.

Unlike the checkered target grips that came standard on these
guns and looked like they came from a high school
shop project and worked about as well, these feel pretty good
shooting full house rounds.

No custom grips or leather, though I've been thinkin' about having a pair of custom grips built for the Mdl 57.

Here's My 629-1, 657-2, and 57-1:

This is my 29-3 wearing Herretts Jordan Troopers. The large stocks really take the sting out of magnum rounds. It rides in a Bianchi Cyclone.

thoses Troopers look great - I think they are my favorite custom stocks

This plain jane set of orange (Cocobolo?) factory stocks were made much better looking and 10 times more comfortable in the hand by Forum member VM.

These Pointer stocks aren't exactly custom but you can't buy them new anymore (company's long out of business) and they look and feel pretty good on this much modified 1917 with the help of the Pachmyar grip adapter.

This 4th Model 44 HE Target wears a set of Grashorn Elk Magnas. The Tyler-T has since been replaced with a Pachmyar grip adapter.
