How accurate are our guns ?

I was hitting .44 cases (empty) and 12 Gauge husks all day long at 50 yards.

Win 333 is great stuff, depending on the lot in my experience. I had two boxes in a row that seemed to have magic sprinkled into the powder, but then a few in a row that were so-so. Price per round at Wally World is the same for Fed bulk pack so I'm sticking to Fed for now.

With the Federal 333 I routinely get 1-1.5 MOA at 50 yds. I have a 3-9X40 Scope mounted and have replaced the grip with a MagPul MOE. Also I replaced the trigger with an Armalite 2-stage tactical (so it is just like my M15). Of interest, the gunsmith lost the original rear take-down pin (later found). In the meantime I contacted S&W for a replacement. They had no part # and no exploded diagram to refer to. They sent a regular MP15 pin. When I put it in, it would fall out with the rifle resting on it right side (it would not come all the way out put would not stay snug all the way in). I replaced the detent retention spring with a regular one. Voila, it is snug and holds well. It is a little difficult to push in when replacing the upper, but will probably get better with time. Great little rabbit hunter of a rifle

I get 1.50" - 2.00" groups at 25 yards standing, with 3X cheapo scope. when i pop the bipods on, it gets super tight. i wish ihad a longer range to shoot at. I really think its a good shootin rifle. Really want to shoot the big brother version.

After getting gun somewhat zero'd in it made it more fun to shoot at something, though it proved hard to actually trap the coin from not being buried to deep to find.

Well it will not out shoot my cz trainer With my green laser I was getting very tight groups this evening with the 15-22.
1 1/2" groups 25rds at 25 yds using cci sv.

When I bought this gun I wanted a good percision firearm I read it a had a match grade barrel so I figured it would be a tack driver. I have been hearing rumors of poor performance I did just got a scope so I will get an idea soon but what is everyones thoughts on this?

Yeah, that "match grade" description is pretty much a misprint, IMO. But it is fun to shoot and is a good training aid if you what to keep your AR style ammo budget in check.

Has anyone try Winchester Super x Hyper velocity ammo with MP15-22 ? Red 100pc plastic box.

The 15-22 is no "precision firearm". The terms "match" and "tack driver" are so overused these days it's sickening. Nonetheless, the 15-22 is more than accurate enough for it's intended purposes. I was reminded of that on the range today, hitting shotgun hulls at various distances was no problem at all. Cannot ask for more than that in a 22 rifle with a high fun factor.

Just what are the "intended purposes" of the 15-22 ? IMHO, if a weapon isn't accurate, it can't serve any purpose very well--except burn ammunition up. The great Col. Townsend Whelan said, "Only accurate rifles are interesting".......

What do consider accurate? Same hole, that's for match weapons. It will place groups all day long in the kill zone. Shooting shotgun hulls is pretty dog darn accurate. It's not a sniper rifle.

I was VERY impressed with mine, yesterday.

Standard, early version...with a Bushnell 'T-dot' (acog clone?) 1x red dot on it.

After shooting pistols for a while, I set up on the silhouette range. They have a couple 'permanent' targets set up, at non-standard distaces. Anyway, I blasted the 40yd (chicken) easily. Made a small scope adjustment, and had it dead-on.

Had one full mag left, so I went down to the 80yd end of the range and nailed the ram a good 20-21 rounds out of 25 in the mag. Standing, rapid fire...not trying too hard.

Federal AutoMatch ammo.

Anyway, I was surprised at how well it shot.

I tend to agree with Joe in my 40 plus years of shooting .22 and trust me I have shot a lot of them. If I owned a .22 that would not always shoot MOA at 50 yards with iron sights and the right ammo why bother, because I promise even some of the cheapest guns out there will.
