Local shop has a model 10 PD trade in for $289. Nice shape, but it has the spurless hammer. How difficult is it to replace with a standard spurred one so I can fire single action, and what would be the cost? I know Buds has them with the hammer for the same price, but with FFl fees and not knowing what I'm gonna get, I think the spurless one might be the way to go.

I can change out a bobbed hammer in five minutes - it would probably take me a couple hours to change out a boobed hammer :)
Used hammers are cheap

On a serious note, hammers are easy to change out. I just checked my parts pile and I have a complete (minus the sear) K frame hammer proper for a Model 10.
I'll give it to you you if you decide to buy the spurless hammer gun.
I can talk you thru the sear exchange and hammer exchange over the phone.
Shoot me a PM when you are ready.

Just saw the typo. Let the ball breaking begin!

Is there a particular problem with the boobed hammer? I think I want one, maybe two.

Boobed Hammer

Sex and death, can't beat that. I guess you can cock the boobed hammer from either the right and left side, or just cock the boobed hammer right down the middle. Your spur, your choice.

Is that the model Hooters S&W?

I will be here all week.

Seriously, best laugh of the entire weekend. Thank you.

That depends. Are the "boobed hammers" real or fake?

Boobed Hammers

I think 44 double d's would be easier to work on.

This gives new meaning to going off half-cocked.

Are we talking about a hammer implant or a sex change, I am uncertain?

I am quite sure that if I had a boobed hammer I would just enjoy it the way it is and not change it unless they messed with the sight picture!

In his post he did say "Nice Shape":)

A truly great typo:D

KBM 6893, if you decide to change your bobbed hammer, I would be interested in buying it from you, depending on it's condition.
