You guys are great! My next handgun is going to be a Smith and Wesson revolver. The 45acp cartridge would be good for me, since I own so many 45acp pistols.
Will Carry,
Might be able to make your Christmas merrier: I have a <100-rnd Performance Center 325-TR for sale that I'll get to posting in the Classifieds today.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that while the Model 25, the S&W 1917s, and the later Colt 1917s had shoulders located properly to support the .45ACP against a firing pin strike, this is not necessarily true of 625s and 325s. S&W advises use of moon clips in their instructions, and doesn't guarantee the gun will fire without them. In practice, the two I have usually do, but just today I had a FTF with my 625 and no moon clip. I have never had a FTF with my 25.

Excellent sig line message!

1st suggestion, get a tool. I have a mooncliptool.com It's worth it.

2nd On some clips the sharp edge should be up, this allowed more flexibility on the steel clips I purchased. File to fix. A full clip should sound like dice in your hand, not quiet, they drop in easier.

3rd The clips should lay flat, if not pitch it.

Enjoy, fun and accurate guns for people that don't like to bend over and hunt for brass.
