I am loading for a 40s&w and picked up some bullseye and I was wondering how does bullseye meter in a progressive?? It looks like flakes. Using some Winchester autocomp now that is metering quite well.

bullseye

It meters quite well. You wont be disappointed as I have loaded tens of thousands of rounds with it. It is a "go to" powder for me.

It meters for ****, I have some 700x that I'll trade you, just kidding. It som of the best metering powder money can buy. Lucky find its been over a year since I found any bullseye and I have been looking.

Bullseye meters great with its small flakes. It has a very high nitroglycerine content so make sure you empty out the hopper after each loading session. Some plastic hoppers don't seem to be affected by it (my Lee PPM is OK with it). Others get eaten up by it and can be ruined by leaving it for a while. My LnL AP hopper got a nice brown tint to it despite never having it in for more than an hour at a time, but 6 pounds through it took its toll.

Bullseye is an excellent handgun powder, just about as versatile as Unique. A little more sooty but if you're cleaning your gun anyway, it takes no more time to clean up than the "clean" powders.

I just picked up a pound of it this weekend. I loaded up some test rounds in .38 and hope to try them out tomorrow.

It seemed to meter pretty well in the 30 rounds I loaded.

I like Bullseye, but the small flake size makes it susceptible to static cling. It stick to my hopper, scale pan, and funnels. I have to treat them with anti-static spray to keep the static down. It is a great powder otherwise. Some say it is a little dirty, but I think the newer stuff is cleaner than the old.

It meters very well. I did have static cling issues in the hopper at first, it is much less an issue after running some powder through it. The graphite that is left behind seems to help. I am using a Honady LNLAP

It has always metered good for me. I used a lot of it in 45 acp for USPSA in the 90's.

I got away from using it for quite a while. But, recently picked up a jug of it.

I've been using it in my 9mm with 147 gr coated bullets at 950 fps. and noticing some leading that I hadn't noticed with a medium burn powder like HS6 or Unique.

Any one else notice this or having a problem ?

( Sorry, I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread but since the discussion was about bullseye , I thought I would throw it out there.. )

It seems to burn a little hot, possibly due to high nitroglycerin content. I get a little worse leading than with 231. Nothing like titegroup though.

If your powder measure won't meter Bullseye well you need to chunk it in the trash. It's been the premier pistol powder in the US for nearly 100 years.
