I just went on the Mecklenburg web site and it now has the following. So it looks like the information is already out there.
The current wait time to schedule an appointment to apply for a carry concealed permit is 2 weeks from today. Once your application has been received, MCSO has 45 days to issue or deny once we receive ALL of the information back from the mental health facilities. We apologize for the inconvenience, but our goal is to ensure each citizen is given the attention needed to complete the process.

I'm in Craig County Virginia (just 20 miles north of Roanoke). I just got mine. I took my test certification and application in on a Friday Jan 24 (Sheriff or signoff authority was not in that day) and they called me for pickup on Wednesday Jan 29. Very simple process.
I took an online test for the certification through 11BravoTraining but learned my DD214 would suffice for that requirement. Not against tests, but it would have saved me $20.00 I could have used for ammo or beer.

Permit? What permit? We don't need no stink'n permit. Here in Arizona we are the land of the free and the home of the brave. Open carry, closed carry, or hidden in our underpants. Makes no difference. Shall not be infringed means just that. An individual should carry a weapon where, when, and how they want without somebodies permission, particularly some government leach. I weep for the sheep in the communist states, particularly the one next door to the west. At one time in this country everybody carried. It was a given. Now? Tuck your tail between your legs and march down to some statist office and ask if it's "ok", please.

In Texas, the CHL is issued by the State DPS, not the County. It took 69 days from mailbox to mailbox for mine. I submitted the first week of last October. I understand wait times were up to almost 90 days at one point. The State has hired temporary employees and authorized overtime to handle the increased number of applications, so the time is gradually decreasing.

Not quite true. Arizona does issue concealed carry permits. If you have one, it allows you to carry some places where otherwise it would be illegal.

in Washington state it takes about 30 days as of right now...I am sure some legislator is working on screwing that up as I type...I need to go shoot...I'm grumpy this morning...
It took my wife 10 days from the time she applied until she received it in the mail.

I live in Delaware County, Ohio. My county requires an appointment, even for my renewal. My appointment was for 2 1/2 months,and would be 2 days before my ccw expired. I called the next county, Morrow, and they said come on over, I turned in the paper work and it took 9 business days. When my bast friend renewed last year in Morrow County, he was called back the same day. so things have really picked up. By the way back in August, Delaware County was taking 4 or 5 weeks for a renewal. Ivan

I live in Rockingham County NC. Mine took right at 90 days, my wife's took 30 days, they told my daughter they were no longer doing background checks????

Well, in Illinois the state police website gave out the applications on January 5, 2014. Many applied that day, including myself, by uploading all the required documents, including the ridiculous $150 fee. None have been issued yet. They have 90 days by law, but this is Illinois, and they have routinely gone beyond the "law" with FOID card issues, and just say they don't have enough staff (give us more money). In Early April they will have to issue a bunch or will not meet their legal obligation. I think they will be issued shortly before the 90 days expires.

Mine took about a week.
No class necessary due to my Army pistol competition record.
Took paperwork into the Sheriff.
They fingerprinted me and took my picture.
Gave them a check for $60.
Card was in the mail shortly thereafter.

about 3 weeks ( mine was longer b/c the town office lost mine but it was all figured out later on )
No finger print or picture required. Here in Maine the state police will do the issuing but if your town has a police department it can be done locally. My town does not actually have a police dept but we have a town constable which I guess is sufficient.

I am in southwest ohio (Preble county) and from start to finish was about 3 months. Most of that time was waiting to go to sherriff for interview (thats what they call it hear) 2 days for class then almost 3 months to get to sherrif and then 2 days later call came to pick up permit

Illinois here, no permit yet. My application went in electronically Jan. 13. I received an e-mail Feb. 2 stating ISP had received my application and it was now in the review process.
I had to jump through quite a few hoops to get to this point. Because of my veteran status I was excused from four of the eight hours of training.
Then I had electronic fingerprinting done to hopefully shorten the wait from 120 days to 90. January 5th was the first day you could apply on line for permits. So, I go to the Illinois State Police CCW website and start the process. The first thing you need is an Illinois state digital ID. Not to be confused with an Illinois state digital signature, which I already had. There was a handy link to where you could obtain the digital ID. A simple form to fill out with your drivers license number, name and weight from your drivers license. I filled out the first page and hit the continue button at the bottom. A loading screen appeared and never went away. I backed up and tried again with the same result. There was a phone number for assistance but this was Sunday and the office wasn't open. Next day I called the number five times before I even got into an answering queue. Finally after 27 minutes waiting I got to talk to a real person. My problem was I wasn't using Windows and Internet Explorer to apply for the digital ID (Apple house here). So I went up to the library to use one of their machines only to find out they don't use IE and wouldn't let me switch over to IE from the Firefox they were running. Called a friend who let me use one of his machines and started to fill out the form again only to be told the license number was already in the system. Again called the help line. Only ten minutes this time to a real person. Found out that my initial try had been saved on their system so would have to be removed for me to continue. But, she couldn't do it. I left my phone number and e-mail address and would be contacted in a number of days, she couldn't say how many. This was Jan. 6th. Jan. 13th I get an e-mail about the problem and that they had removed my incomplete application and I could try again. "Be sure to use a Windows machine running IE"! And thats why it took me eight days extra to apply for my CCW in Illinois.
