My 9mm shield jams a lot so I called Smith last Tuesday and they said would email me mailer to return. No mailer on Friday so called. Rep said should be there in a week of initial order, which is today. Still no mailer in my email.

For those who have requested mailer via email, how long did it take to receive? Thanks.

It took a few days both times to receive an email shipping label to return firearms for warranty service.

I was told 10 days to get an emailed Fedex label. It arrived at the end of the 10th day. Patience, grasshopper.

Emailed fed-ex took 10-50 minutes, after I had waited 10+ days for a mailed one. As I said in another thread- I talked to CS @ SW and they have a "new" system that is not working well. I have an M&P ready to be shipped for nearly a month. But ready to be shipped and shipping are two different things. They do not want your gun, they would like less phone calls with problems, they would like to be able to control shipping and many other things. So we can bash them here, or call them, or better yet we can hope that things get sorted out, ammo becomes available and they all stay in the ten ring. Be Safe,

To the OP...
Don't forget to check your Spam/Junk mail Folder.
With some email clients, if the Sender is not in your Contacts List, it gets recognized as Spam.

I can't answer than question because mine just passed 1000 rounds with nary a hiccup...in fact, I had to buy a second 9mm Shield becuz I love the first one so good....#2 just passed 300 rounds and counting...

Why are some people having so many problems?

Once you guys got your FedEx mail label, were you able to drop it off at a Pack & Send or did you have to bring it to a FedEx depot? UPS stores won't accept firearms but they will at their depots.

The S&W label included instructions. I called the Fed Ex number supplied, Fed Ex picked up the package within a couple of hours. Pretty slick !

There are instructions included with the shipping label. FedEx will pick it up at your house or place of business. Wherever you tell them to come, they will come and get it.

The instructions say to tell the driver that it's a firearm. However, every time I've shipped a gun with FedEx, the driver looked at me like I'm from Mars when I told him. I guess the drivers don't care.

I have used S&W warranty on two occasions for two different guns. These issues were about 5 months apart. Both timed I received the auto respond e-mail very quickly but did not get the return FedEx e-mail for a week or so. I sent them in the next day and waited over 2 months on the first before I called CS and was told they were "working on the issue" they said it should be completed soon. The next day I got an e-mail from S&W saying it was fixed and would be returned soon. I got another e-mail a few days later saying it had been sent. Got it 2 days later, nearly 3 months in total.
The second issue started the same but this time I called CS after 2 weeks to check on it. I was told that it had been repaired and was waiting to be shipped. The CS could not say when that may be. I never got any additional e-mail from S&W but 5 days later it arrived via FedEx.

Frustrating but a bit faster the second time. I believe the first time I would have waited forever if I had not called to check on it. The second time CS said that the repair had been completed the previous week and was waiting to be shipped????

Good luck, hopefully it arrives back to you soon.

WOW!! This all doesn't sound encouraging. I was told 7-10 days to get new magazine springs. It's been 6 weeks. I started contacting them after 3 weeks. They most recently suggested sending it back for repair which I started the process. Still waiting for the mailing label. Very disappointed. Too bad you can't just return a firearm that doesn't work for a refund and get something else. Looks like I'll end up several months without being able to use my new M&P BG.

You can. At least they did for me.

I had a SW1911 that had a problem. I sent it back twice and it still wasn't fixed. So, I talked to customer service and asked what now? They told me I could send it in again or I could get a refund. I asked for the refund. I had to email them a copy of my receipt and it took about two weeks, but they sent me a check for the whole amount including tax.

Now that sounds encouraging!! I'll keep that in mind.
