I love the .22 LR cartridge. It's what I'd go with if I could own only one for the rest of my life. I don't CCW a .22 LR because I have a few other small guns that are a better choice, it but I sure wouldn't be too worried if a .22 was all i had either.
Around my rural home here in a very small town in the mountains of the So Cal high desert I carry my model 617 all day. We have around 40 chickens and other animals here. Coyotes, rattlers and other pests are always around. The .22 is also a blast to plink with on my little home range.
