Can a 38sp +P deliver these numbers from the same length barrels? This is Buffalo Bore 125 gr Tactical Short Barrel Lower Recoil Low Flash 357 Magnum Pistol and Handgun Ammo.

Totally wrong format

So I shoot 357 out my LCR all the time, there are videos at the links to prove it. I train with it. it's not a real issue. yeah it's got more recoil but it's manageable. I am accurate with it one handed and on the move... as shown in my DATA. So are we to ignore that real life data too and continue on with blinders?

If YOU cannot handle it, then yes, it is worthless to you, so shoot 38's. But to make blanket uneducated statements that there is not a difference or that it is bad for all of us because YOU can't handle it, is not only wrong, but pompous. Plenty of people have piped up in this thread to prove those statements wrong. I even provided chrony AND video data. That is ignored as the OP is MIA. So yeah, let's ignore the data and keep making inaccurate blanket statements.

You are confused about who said what, or doesn't it matter?

Nuclear explosives in Scandium/aluminum snubbies

One of our Charming Children has a S&W 340PD. DESPITE his full knowledge of my crumbling hands and wrists, he loads it with dinosaur killers and hands it to me with a smirk.

As soon as I get the cast off and recover use of the hand I'm going to spank him. All 1.9 meters and 99.8 fit kilos (6' 3", 220lbs) of him.
I may be old, but I can still dream.

I used to shoot magnum 110 gr. & 158 gr. from my first generation S&W 640-1. Heavy bullets are a bit much for the gun. I found that, except for noise, flash, and lower point of impact the Federal 110 gr. .357 had about the same felt recoil as a Winchester 158 gr. SWCLHP +P.

So, that would be my choice for defensive carry in a steel gun.

As a rule, .357 snubbies make excellent .38 Specials. Especially if you reload using .38 brass. You don't have to worry about case length. There's no way that brass will stretch 1/10 of an inch... Without cracking first anyway.

I used the old Speer Lawman 140 gr HP and later Winchester Silvertip in the same weight in a Colt Lawman MK III snub. Surprisingly controllable, but if recoil was any indication of energy, they were outperforming .38 +P.

Like entering a dark bar from a lighted street, I always closed one eye when night shooting with either load. Great balls of fire!

When I hot loaded my ruger super Blackhawk in 44mag I had 6"/8" of flames on both sides of the cylinder and 12" of flame out the barrel. From what I could estimate while trying to hang on to it. Like I said people were leaving the range.

The stupid things we do when we're young. We think there is a big "S" on our chest, "super man". We were a wild group.

Your conclusions were incorrect and unsubstantiated in your other post the same as in this one. I guess the more light you shine on some people the blinder they get.

Well then I guess either my Chronograph has been broken for the last five years or all the Factory Magnum 158 grain ammo I have is defective - because the posts I've made are from data gotten off my chronograph with Factory ammunition.

I was talking about the 158 grain Magnum loads specifically (if you read my post carefully). I tend not to shoot 125 grain Magnums from J & K's because of their flame cutting issues and accelerated wear in small frame guns. I was ALSO comparing BB +P 38 Spl. to Rem, Win, and Fed. Magnum ammo NOT BB Magnums!

This is a copy of Ballistics by the inch.
This is NOT my data!

Unfortunately, it did not print correctly. The bullet grain weights should be OVER the chart and not one under another, but still if you scroll down and look at the 2" barrel they will show similar conclusions to what I have been talking about..

The thing with full power loads in a snubbie is if you miss with the bullet you will get them with the flame.

I carry and shoot full power Underwood 125gr XTPs in my 327PC, I just ordered a 640 Pro and can't wait to get it and try it out.

EDC via pocket carry is a 640-1 stoked with Corbon 125 gr DPX. I have shot Winchester 145 gr Silvertips, Remington 125 gr JHP (full house), Federal 125 gr JHP, along with others.

If I had wanted to carry a .38 sp I would have gotten a 442.

I have shot the Underwood 357 hard cast 180 grain out of a M&P 340 (stainless cylinder & hybrid lite weight frame) and the 640 pro (stainless). I would shoot this out of the 640 on a regular basis but I don't see myself doing it on the 340 anymore.

I'd say you've never fired a full .357 load out of one of S&Ws 12oz .357s. Even S&W says they are harder to handle than their .500 Mags. Don

Can you clarify where they say that? I am just asking as I have never shot anything larger than 357 in a handgun and I am curious how the bigger calibers would feel. I have shot some hot loads in my j frames.
