How many own a .223/5.56

What to do What to do:rolleyes:

LOVE my 15-22... but keep wondering about the M&P Ar15 .223

I think I NEED Both:D

Snagged my Buddies Bushmaster Ar15 today and went to the Range.... Only shot 40rds, 2 mags.....

REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna do my Slide fire on a FULL AR15 Frame.....

$1000 for Another Gun (would be 4 in 2 months) $100 in Rounds PER Sunday Minimum......

what do you guys Think?????????

Stav
You do. You do need both :) Which S&W? The 'sport' goes on sale around here for $600 something so that could you leave you with some in the wallet.

And this is how I broke it in:

Zombie deer never had a chance...

Nice! I'm sure that would have freaked me out if I were a few lanes away haha. Palmetto is so awesome. Great value with their stuff. I'm going to order my lower parts kit from them & who knows? If at the time they have a crazy sale, I'll get their $50 stripped lowers :) I have the itch to buy more parts for my first build. Think I mentioned earlier when this thread was started but all I have is a handguard, bolt carrier group and iron sights. Few things on the list I may buy soon:

*BCM stripped upper(comes with the dust cover & assist)-A blemished one for the savings
*BCM Gunfighter charging handle
*Yankee Hill low profile gas block
*PSA lower parts kit with Ergo grip sans trigger control group
*Geiselle Automatics- Super Dynamic Combat 2-stage trigger
*Battlecomp 1.0 compensator
*La-Rue's new pistol grip(A-Peg)
*A1 USGI buttstock assembly from Fulton Armory

Then I'd just need someone's stripped lower, someone's 1 in 8" twist barrel, magazine lock, Solar Tactical grip wrap and a mid-length gas tube and I'm good!

Oh...10-round magazines and ammo would be nice too.

Scoped for long range unwanteds on the property and the
Quick detach is nice for the up close work. Take it off and
flip up the Troy Sights and its dead on for the closer in work.

She just got it yesterday so will get some rounds thru it this weekend.

My vault now holds 3. A Ruger Mini 14 SS, one of the very first made in SS. A Bushie M4 and a R.R.full size. I do not have a S&W YET, but soon no doubt.

As I'm not a person to hang all sorts of stuff on my weapons mine are reasonably stock. All 3 have slings, the Ruger has a a folding stock I put on when I bought the gun and it also has its peep sight drilled out a bit for faster work.

I bought the 15-22 for my son for Christmas, so he would have something better to shoot while I was shooting my chainsaw.

But I enjoyed shooting it a little too much. Started looking into AR-15's, but I couldn't find one configured the way that I wanted. After a lot of research, I decided to build the one that I wanted with parts from PSA.

It has a 16" stainless steel barrel with the .223 Wylde chamber and YHM Diamond rifle length quad rails. Tacstar grips, "Zombie Hunter" take down pins and magazine release. Magpul "Zombie Hunter" rail covers (I had to order another set in green for my son after he saw mine). JP yellow springs. It shoots great, but I will be doing a little trigger work on it next time that I am home.

Your trigger seems broken, it is stuck on fire! Us Kalifornians never seen that!!:D

Looks awsome, I just picked up a PSA dissy upper as well to add to my small collection. They are built solid.

Who makes that lower again? I recognize it. That Magwell blows my mind for some reason haha. I'm guessing it's billet and it looks like the trigger guard is part of the receiver, I dig that! My wild guess:Sundevil?

Yep the magwell it what made me want it. It's a seekins precision lower. And yes it is a billet lower with a fixed trigger guard. Top notch tactical also makes one though top notch is not selling stripped lowers currently.

It also has an ambi bolt release which is pretty awsome and wish I had on all my lowers.

Damn, ambi stuff is always cool! Sounds to me like a...$300 lower?

I think every citizen in the USA should have at least 1 AR-15 in their home (I know some states don't let you.. but they should) and a crate of ammo. Just in case it ever reverts back to "We the people..."

Mines a Colt LE 6920 with an Adam Arms gas piston kit, Daniel Defense lite rail and swivel QD, Samson flip sights, and Magpul CTR stock. I don't remember who made the pistol grip.

I just bought my first center fire rifle - a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle - and love it. It takes the same ammunition (.223 or 5.56x45) as an AR, much easier to clean (piston operated), and the silhouette doesn't scare the liberals (as much). If I reload and use a brass catcher, it costs less to shoot than a revolver or .45 ACP. It's giving me a chance to break the grandchildren in on something with more reach and thump than .22LR.

Here in sunny California they kinda frown on such things so I don't own "one".

Honest,

Here are my two AR's. Built both of them myself from parts.
5.56 M&P lower, VLTOR upper, Sabre barrel.

6.8 Sun Devil upper/lower, Bison barrel.

And of course, the 22.

Apologies if there is a thread for this but I couldn't find it. Question is how many of you also own a .223/5.56 (S&W, other complete or custom build) in addition to your 15-22? Did you have it before you got a 15-22 or did 15-22 lead you to the higher caliber?

honestly, whgy buy a 223/5.56 if I already have a m1 garand 30-06 and a Ithaca 308 and many other fine caliber rifles\. thats mho
