How much your CCW Permit cost?

Here in Arkansas, I took a class today and paid $50, now I have to send my fingerprint card and class paperwork to the State Police and $141.50, and I get a 5 year permit. Some instructors charge over $100 for a class, and it's a state license, not county.

in South Dakota, the cost is $10 for a permit, which is good for 4 years. The state legislature is considering a bill this year which will extend the expiration of the permit to 5 years.

Mine cost $50 for WI. The CCW course was $100. I'm good for 5 years and the renewal is $15.

The Utah is $51, which I will be sending in for next, same renewal fee.

Kansas

CCL Course: $60
Rental/Ammo: $5 (cheaper than shooting 25 rounds with my .40)
Application: $100
Finger Printing/Processing: $32.50

Total $197.50

They told me 90 days when I submitted it about 3 weeks ago.

Here in the great state of California I will cough up $563 in total between submitting the application and approval process which may take up to 90 days.

How much yours cost ?

But look at the bright side: Your State is bankrupt, you have wildfires, floods, earthquakes, mud slides, high crime and millions
of illegals. Other than that Cali is a GREAT place to live.:rolleyes:

My NY permit was issued in 1990. It cost $80 total for printing, photo, processing. Good for life, revocable at any time. The way Cuomo's going, that time is coming soon.

The OP having to pay over $500... that's insane. ...

Actually, I'm relieved that the OP even has the option of being able to apply for and receive a CWP, considering the state he's living in...better to make it somewhat expensive, but still attainable, than to prohibit it altogether.

$72.50 for classroom instruction
$15.00 Range fee
$100 Administrative fee covering background check and processing
$187.50 total
Minnesota CCW permit is good for 5 years

Oh well :D
I agree 99%...

The only good thing about this state of ours is the weather my friend.
It is nice to look at the TV screen with awe to see how the rest of the country suffering under blizzard while I am sitting outside with a short sleeve T-shirt at 70 degree day with sunny clear blue skies.

If that wasn't the case I was going to leave years ago...

Now I have to wait for retirement which means 2,5 years to go..;)

About $200 in Nebraska. State approved training usually around $100, initial permit $100. Good for 5 years renewals are $50.

In NY permits used to be issued "until revoked". Cuomo has made that a 5 year renewal with his latest debacle. I'm lead to believe the renewal will be free but I doubt it. Of course like most provisions of his bill, that process has yet to be defined.

In 1978 my mother was the court clerk for the county judge. Not only did it not cost me anything, I recall getting a free lunch out of the deal. Total process was a couple hours (including lunch and travel).

Permits here are issued by the county. I believe my wife's cost about $135 (prints, pictures, precessing). None of which is refundable if they decline your application. Total time for approval is about 9 months! That was before the number of applications went thru the roof with Cuomo's dracorian law. I can't image how long the approval process will take now.

NY requires all handguns to be listed directly on your permit. To add or delete is a $3 fee and must be done at your county clerk's office. It's a pita.

My LTC is coming up for renewal in September. Last time I renewed, it was $100 for 6 years. Don't know the cost for a new LTC. I got my original LTC so long ago, I was grandfathered from the Firearms class newbies have to take. I was unaware that to get an initial LTC in MA you needed to be a member of a gun club or sportsman Club as someone stated in a previous post.

$105 in Michigan. The pictures are another $10-25. The classes run from about $125 on up, depending on who teaches them. $250 total for five years.

I think it depends on the county you live in. For me it was $105 for the application, pics were $20 at the post office, and the 8 hr training was $75 and $25 of that was a membership in the local sportsmen's club and $.50 for the plastic lament on the permit and $5 for fingerprints.

Here in Tennessee I had to pay $50.00 to take the eight hour classroom training and range portion and $115.00 for the state portion which I think included a background check.

I got my license last year and it was $65.00 in Ohio, a friend got his this year and it is now $75.00. I paid $190.00 for a class that was not required but I felt was worth it.

Isn't a fee an infringment?

RI charges $40 and valid for 4 years if you can get one. You have to write an essay on why you need one. If you need one, is there anyway you can avoid situations where you could go without one. etc etc etc.

Here in the great state of Indiana I think I paid 125.00 total for my lifetime carry permit.
Cheers

My initial cost was $35 for a 12 hour class and $45 for license. Renewals are $55 for five years. Ohio sucks in a lot of ways, but gun ownership is not one of them.
