For bulls-eye competitions, after how many rounds do you take the Model 41 apart to do a detailed cleaning?

How often do you just swipe the barrel with a boresnake?

Just curious.

Detailed cleaning is done when trigger pull is "yucky" and time to remove the built-up crud.

I clean the slide and frame rails after about 5 matches. The bolt face gets a couple of strokes with an old tooth brush after every match and wiped off with a cloth.

My two M41 are like the Everyready bunny -- they just keep running. :D

Depends on reliability. If you've got one of those 41s that jams with anything except CCI SV, you'll probably have to clean and lube the slide rails every session, and clean the bolt face and under the extractor with a dental probe every session.
You may want to visit the targettalk.org website and do a search for "41" or " M41" and discover the extensive history of reliability issues!
I tried everything: the 6# wolff spring, Clark barrel, tuned extractor, replaced the slide stop/ejector....
I got sick of all the alibis, at least one a match.
I simply stopped using my 41 and got a Pardini. My scores went up and my frustrations went down!

NO reliability issues whatsoever

I have had NO reliability issues whatsoever and I have 1000 rounds through it with only a boresnake swipe after every use. Finally took it all apart today and thoroughly cleaned it.

That sounds about right. That seems to be about the time schedule on both my pistols for cleaning as well is around every 1000 rounds. I am careful not to over oil the sides as that can hold dirt which we do not want.

I don't like malfunctions especially preventable ones.

I try to keep organized so that I clean the M41s after every 500 rounds. I do not do a thorough barrel clean unless I am changing ammunition.

My current lot of CCI-SV is quite good, most FTF will fire if I reload the round and try again.

I agree about the Pardini, I have never had a FTF in my Pardini. I do usually clean it every 500 rounds but that is mostly because I am constantly changing ammunition in it.
