The 65 is the stainless version of the 13, and as such it is fixed sights and no ejector rod shroud.

The Ladysmith has a glass bead blast finish and an ejector rod shroud like a 19/66, but fixed sights.

So, it's an unusual 65 with the ejector rod shroud and satin finish.

Does anyone have an idea how many 65 Ladysmiths were made, all dash models included? Seems like an oddball, nice and a good idea - just different.

I just found a 3" RB with the Ladysmith logo professionally removed and snapped it up. In my mind it is an ultimate carry revolver - stainless, fixed sights, good caliber, 3" RB, and the satin finish that wears like iron.

I'll post pics when I do the paperwork.

Post yours, I'd love to see them.

Well, I would not call them RARE, but they have NOT been produced in the same quantities as let's say a Model 15, 19, etc. If you want one they can be found relatively easily. They are great guns (except for the attempt to feminize the finish). I know some guys buy them and have them bead blasted to make them look more manly.

They came from the factory glass bead blasted. Only the logo was feminine.

I have several revolvers and watches glass bead blasted. Just so you understand, glass bead blasting peens the surface and hardens it a bit. In 20+ years of slogging through the woods, the 629-2 in my avatar still looks new, and please believe me when I tell you it got no special handling. As a matter of fact, it accompanied me on several misadventures that resulted in damage and injury.

The watches are also quite durable and show no wear where a brushed finish totally fails.

Not saying it's an ultimate finish, but I am saying it's head and shoulders above all but specialty finishes and even some of those come up wanting compared to glass bead blasting.

Add to that the reason I selected it for my hunting revolver - light diffusion - it doesn't shine.

A lot of folks feel the same way, which is why when one comes up for sale it usually doesn't last long.

That can be said of this one too.

I had quite a bit of after-the-fact competition and "I'll take it if the deal falls through" going on.

Got lucky.

Found this one in a LGS a few months ago. Its the only one I have ever seen.
In its "purse" and all.
As it had a bit of pitting in a few spots, I decided to do a fluff and buff, removing the lady logo in the process. Still undecided if I might blast it to a satin look again.

Wife's only K-Frame and her bedstand gun is a 65 Ladysmith. Bought it for her as a birthday present in the mid '90's.

I really liked the bead blast finish. So, snapped up an as new 60 Ladysmith at a good price at a gun show not long after that. Bobbed the hammer, tuned it, and it's still in service as my all steel carry J-frame. Never saw the need to to remove the logo. Just put manly boot grips on it and told anyone who called me on it I was gay.

i got one a while back and love it! one damn fine looking handgun!
