How would this be scored?

Earlier this week I was at the range. I am new to the scoring process. I was shooting at roughly 17 yards and just want to know how to score this. Several of my shots hit on the lines and not sure how that would be scored.

From here without a bullet or gauge, looks like 3 ea 9's, 4 ea X's, the rest are 10's. Bullet hole breaking line gets higher score. Radial tearing of the paper does not count.

I think most of the NRA book say something like
If the leaded edge of the bullet hole touches the scoring line the shot will be given the higher value.
Make sure you only count the bullet hole and not a tear in the paper. You can go to the NRA website and read the rules for scoring targets in the competition sections.Good luck

Thank you, I appreciate the information. Someone told me the shots on the line count as the lower score. Looking at the target right now, there are 4 in the x, 4 in the 9 and 9 shots in the 10. I was shooting with a Taurus 24/7 Pro, 17+1. Only had 16+1 loaded at the time.

Would actually need a closer picture of the target to read it better but it appears there are 3 9's and 5 x's (the liner at 7 o'clock looks to be a double) the rest are 10's. I count 18 shots.

If the bullet breaks the line or the leaded edge marks the line (also called a "grease mark") it scores into the higher ring.

All the shooting sports score the line as IN (the higher score).

That guy probably lies about other things too. :D

Here is a closer view.

I am not quite sure if the guy knows anything about competitive shooting. Something tells me all he knows is how to aim a rifle or pistol and pull the trigger.

i count 16 shots, 4-X's 8-10's 4-9's. tie breakers, if two shooters had the same point score the shooter with the most X's wins, as X's are scored as a 10. jim

Thanks for the closer picture. I still see 5 x's and 3 9's.

How many shots were fired? It still looks like 18, but paper targets do tear funny sometimes, whihc may create the illusion of a double.
