First tick, chigger and mosquito bite. I hate them all but chiggers the worst, especially around the tender parts which they seem to favor.

The first mockingbird enthusiastically practicing its entire vocabulary..... yep that's a sure sign of spring...:)

Hummingbirds are next! The Ruby Throat Hummingbird migration map is an interesting yearly arrival indicator.. bout first of April around here.
 
Juniper pollen has been noticeable to my nose for the last week or so.

Juncos disappeared about the same time that my apricots blossomed and I haven't heard or seen any geese in the sky, either.
 
...we don't even consider it around here 'til the middle of May...

...of course we had four feet of snow on the 15th of May a couple of years ago...

...and four inches on the 21st of June a few years before that...

I was outside and the Juncos are still here. Apparently, they consider winter is still in progress.
