It's all I can figure, they tried to take advantage of people and got stuck with products they can't sell.

Just cruised through GB and looked for Magpul Mags.

There are 'buy it now' sales where mags are going un-bought for $26 each. There are some that are as low as $21 each. Even with shipping you can find hundreds for $25 or less.

Then there are the other sellers still listing their mags at $60 and even more...

All I can figure is they bought them at a 'steal' a month ago for $50 and now they are trying to flip them.

It's like a mini-housing crisis.

And I'm going to be the shark swimming around looking for the deals..... :p

We can't assume that everyone that has purchased ammo
and/or AR15' have bought with plastic and can't now or later afford the payments.
AR's are dropping rapidly in price.
Ammo is and I think will be another matter.
It will come down some but we will never see pre-frenzy prices IMHO.
Hope I'm wrong.

I agree it is extremely irritating to see what some folks price thier goods.
Local gun shop has .22 ammo 50 rd box marked at $16.95..and
some lugnuts are buyin.

There is always a short window for these type of events, if you were foolish enough to pay the high price for one of those mags, you have only yourself to blame.....same goes for ammo and black rifles.

I was just visiting my buddy in Colorado and actually set up an account to buy ten mags at Colorado resident pricing and something told me I better wait a bit. Sure enough they started dropping... I bought two a couple days ago for $25 each shipped just so I have some (new AR and only 1 mag  ). I'll pick up more as they come down.

What a difference a month can make!

It is starting to wind down on the internnt and locally also.
Ar's have dropped about 30 percent from what they were a month ago. A guy I know bought an AR for 1500,00 and I doubt if he could get 1100.00 out of it now.
The 223/556 one dollar a round looks like it is done. People were even paying 1.00 a round for the non reloadable stuff.
This same thing happened 4 years ago, but not to this extreme.
The price of 22's is being driven up by local buyers who are buying at the retail price and re selling at the shows for 3 to 4 times their cost. That happened before also.
Everything should be close to normal in a few months, at least I hope.
The mania has taken fun out of gun shows and just visiting gun stores in general. I am just hanging back and hope things return to the good old days.:D:D

I ordered 10 pmags from Brownell's for $125 shipped. I haven't gotten them yet, but I planned on keeping them and still do. I should probably have ordered them a week earlier, but I am at least on the wait list. If I go to the gun show this weekend I will be checking to see what they sell for. I believe the back order was a couple million and Magpul's capacity was 200,000/month. It could be late summer/fall before the backlog is gone and the pipe line is full.

There are ARs for sale now, so that is pretty much caught up.

Ammo? who knows?

edit Sportmansguide has six 20 round Thermold mags with connectors for $29 if you aren't a member. That is pretty much the "regular" price.

I am seeing things getting better too. Not so much in the cities, but as I traveled out this weekend just outside of Charlotte I was able to stop by a few places/shops and they were all stocked on .22LR and .223. Selling for probably $2 more a box than what they use to cost. I saw plenty, except when I went to my local gun store I stop in to get a box of 30-30 and they were out... which he said they should be getting another shipment in this Thurs. I've been watching the online sales too and have noticed the fish aren't biting anymore. Summer already looks like it's going to be good on deals.

I sure hope it gets better here soon. Unless something or someone does something crazy it should level out eventually. Just the wait that drives me nuts. (and the people paying ridiculous prices)

It will suck if Magpul ends up having to move states due to Colorado trying to pass their retarded state ban on mags. If thats the case the production will be halted for a bit in order for Magpul to relocate. But im sure eventually it'll be back up to par.

I would hate to be one of those on a back order list whos order doesnt get filled before the company is forced to move "if" it were to ever come down to that.

A co-worker just "bought back" a gun he sold a couple of months ago. In the deal, he got 3 30 round metal mags and sold them to me for $25 bucks.

Thought I got a good deal.

My brother in law found a lgs near his home in Mississippi selling Magpul Pmags for $18/pc with a limit of 2 per person. Sign your name on the list and they call you when your up. He had a couple friends sign up too for our benefit. Scored 3 for me and 3 for him. Paid $20/pc for mine which included shipping. Things are coming around. Slowly but surely.

I have enough to get me by for the moment. Still waiting on a few more boxes, when they ever get here.

Back in November I took advantage of a 20% off sale at Sportsmans Wherehouse on-line, with free shipping to a store near me. CCI minimag 22lr 100 rounds, regularly $7.50 was now $6.00 plus 8% sales tax. That resulted in a price of $6.48 per 100ct. I bought 1000 rounds.
I also included in my order 200 rounds of .44spl & a large bottle of Hoppes solvent.

I seriously doubt I'll be seeing another sale like that.

This was a great couple of months to be a SELLER. Not so hot if you were a BUYER though.

I got out of almost all of my AK's, kept one. Moved 3K+ of quality AK ammo I bought 10 yrs back. (Insert HUGE smiley face here)

Sold some AR BCG's, an upper and a few other items. I did very well.

Every Spring I trek down to Reno for the big Spring Show at the old Hilton. I hope the nuttiness is even HALF gone by the Show. Post election 2008 the Spring Show was CRAZY. Hundreds in line for ammo and primers. Lines EVERYWHERE. PITA.

FN in MT

The Governor of Colorado has announced that he will sign the bill on Wednesday. MagPul put up an announcement on their Facebook page that they will start moving magazine manufacturing as soon as possible and expects to have operations back up within 30 days. No moves announced yet, but they are looking at several states.

Texas isn't that far away and very business friendly.
