Hunter vs. Moose - Moose Wins

Near sighted, afraid of nothing and used to having their own way. In Montana there would be no problem killing a moose, the problem is drawing a tag. They worry me more than bears. I had a young bull wander though my camp once, I worried that he would get tangled up in a tent rope and trash the place. Shooting an aggressive moose would not be much easier to explain to the Dept of Fun and Games, than a grizzly.

I fed a moose with a bucket of chow at a family friend's remote cabin in Wyoming. It was "tame" and had been fed many times before my visit (I know, bad idea) and to be that up close it was astounding to be so close to a giant beast in nature. They may look big from afar, but when you get that close it is awesome and scary at the same time.

Are Yaks easier to tame than Moose or Elk?

I did some work for a guy with some Yaks, He said they were often used similar to an Ox. He gave me a fair sized package of Yak steaks and they were excellent.
I would not trust a ".tame" bull moose, elk when the rut came.

Went to Eielson AFB just outside Fairbanks in 2008. The day we got there we were driving around the base getting our bearings and saw a young cow just off the road munching on some grass. She wasn't huge but bigger than a large horse. We stopped and got out to take some pictures, probably 30 yards from her. She didn't pay us much attention until my buddy skidded his boot on the gravel. She ran back about 10 yards, flipped her ears forward and gave us that "I am going to stomp you" look. We got in the car and took off. Looking back and knowing more about moose than I did back then I know we were lucky to get out of that one alive. They are amazing creatures.

When I was in trucking, we did a lot of trips to/from Maine. A company driver coming down the last bit of US 1 into Houlton at a decent clip and near maximum hit two moose. It totaled the truck, among other things, breaking the bolts that held the tandem to the frame. (These are pretty big ...). One moose was DRT. The other had to be hunted down and shot due to injuries, but had walked away. Dear me.
