Manwitch Vs Sloppy Joe

I like 'em both! And I don't care what anyone says about Teresa Heinz/Kerry, the woman makes Damn fine ketchup!

yeah but, a sandwich is a sandwich and a Manwich is more like a meal!!

:)

Come to think of it a Manwich sounds like something they should serve at the Blue Oyster :)

How bout a recipe? Share the wealth!

You don't really think that I know any recipes....:o
OK - Y'all don't know me that well, but I can give you my recipe for toast and pizza ---- Oh, and instant oat meal. That about covers it.

I do make pretty good instant oat meal if I do say so myself
The trick is cinnamon - Don't tell anyone else though.

I make my own, and the family loves them... and I'll admit that I cheat. I brown about 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger and 1 pound of ground venison. Two of the small cans of tomato paste, then two packages of spaghetti sauce mix, and about 3/4 the amount of water. Simmer that for a bit, then toss in a good handful of quick oatmeal, let that cook up for a couple minutes then slap it on some toasted buns and serve it up with some tater wedges baked with a sprinkling of seasoned salt on them... yeah, buddy, I think I know what's for dinner tomorrow night!

Brown 1lb. hamburger, and drain fat. Add 3tbl. of politically correct ketchup and 1tbl. yellow mustard. Stir in 1 can of chicken gumbo soup. Bring to temp and enjoy on a bun or bread serve with a side of tater-tots and a cold American beer.
Actually, sounds like good "Oscar Party" fare but don't forget the

Central and western PA has a great regional brand made in Tipton, PA. (near Altoona). Del Grosso Sloppy Joe is exactly like good homemade. No corn syrup. Good stuff and inexpensive.
Manwhich and Heinz make me want to projectile vomit!

I found a Del Monte Sloppy Joe. No idea if it's Heinz in a different label or what. Cooked up the Manwich Bold last night. It's got a little more spice kick, but that's about it.

I'm confused on the "home made" option. If you still open cans of this, pouches of that, and bottles of something...

I voted "gross" - #1 rule of thumb is never to shop in the middle of a supermarket - stick to the sides & back and you'll be good.

Go with Hunt's. The other one puts money into the pockets of the Heinz-Kerry bunch. That's plenty of reason enough for me.

John

Not so, as Heinz is owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway in partnership with a Brazilian Private Equity fund.

Guess you'll have to find another target to air your political agenda.

I'd like a #18 with cheddar with a #22 on the side. My wife will not let me share her secrets for either with anyone without me paying a severe fine in withholding. For myself homemade is the only way to go.

I agree with you.
I hate to see a recipe that has "a can of creamed mushroom/celery soup" in the list of ingredients.
If you're too lazy to slice a few mushrooms or celery stalks and heat some milk on the stove, you might as well eat out.
And they taste lousy, too. :D
