Hello All I'm seeing these threads about hypothetical situations where you might draw or do something in a particular situation . PLEASE take some self/personal defense courses in your area you will learn what you can and cant do , in line with local laws and statues . everyone/noone here can tell you what you can / cant do in a "situation" but only a PROPER Qualified trainer can really tell you the right things too do in your location.

that alone Can save your A** in more ways than you can count.

Aww man!!! Where are we gonna be tacticool mall ninjas now!?! He's using reason and wisdom against us!!!

Absolutely agree with your post except for the part about a trainer. Having seen the "advice" some who represent themselves as trainers provide, I wouldn't trust them in any way let alone their "advice."

To be sure, there are many good trainers but unless they are lawyers, judges, or LEO's I wouldn't trust their offerings without some doubt. Again, that's based on what I have seen herein and heard/witnessed on the street.

Be safe.

So BigD are you a cop? If you're a cop where's your badge icon? You've got all this real world experience...how about a quick bio for us newcomers? Otherwise where is this street knowledge coming from?

Hello there Thank you for the replies . NOW all of my trainers are or have been law enforcement and taught us not only technique ,but legal aspects of personal defense . those are the trainers anyone /everyone should seek out . Unless you want to do time with the very criminals you are trying to protect yourself from. Do some work find the right trainers and always have 2 good lawyers on retainer. :D

Well I guess I should ask my question now. I wanted to ask this on another thread but............

So, if Elvis were a zombie, carrying a bear, that was armed with a gun, what caliber should I carry to protect myself with?

I'd go with a rhinestone encrusted Mod 29 to maximum tachiness, and a few cases of Sam Adams ... Your details imply a setup for one heck of a party:D

Didn't pay attention, did you?

No badge icon(s) for me. You said you read all my posts (in another thread) but apparently didn't pay attention; here's a brief recap.

Thirty and one half (30.5) years on the job. Carried on duty in forty-six (46) of the fifty (50) states. Taught for more than twenty-five (25) years at a major state university. Lived in Boston, Virginia, NYC, and Maryland. Duty stationed in Boston, NYC, and DC. Locked up bad guys in more than seven (7) states. Testified in courts in eleven (11) states. Have toted a gun in all of the fifty (50) states.

Absolutely guarantee I have more gun toting experience...on and off-duty...than most Forum members. More experience on and off-duty with bad guys, too.

I don't try to impress people...but I do try to help folks...and will forever dispell false information and refute false/misleading posts whenever I can.

This might not apply to all, but back when I was first on the job, one of my FTOs told me: "If you feel you need it, pull it." Now I'M the FTO and I tell them something similar, with a slight 'but' ... "With time and experience, you will pretty much KNOW when to pull it and when to leave it in the holster."

But there's nothing wrong with placing your hand in preparation for the draw.

Thank you for your service Big D greatly appreciated.:)

As an old retired LEO I've learned a few things.

Want legal advice, Go see an attorney or judge...
The web is no place to take legal advice from!

I appreciate the recap, thank you. I found your comment about using the search function to be rude and pompous. Whoever it was didn't know you; you're not a celebrity or well known trainer. I searched through a few of the replies and saw similar tone. So therefore I commented that I was unimpressed with what I saw.

Any questions? Anyone? Guess not...

The thread update slipped by me. Oh well. Yawn.
