You got a keeper for what you paid. I see them for $800+ on GB all the time. I had a guy that wanted to trade me one towards a gun I was selling. But he backed out of deal for lack of funds. It was a .223 also.
I bought one of those in the 80's. It was the first 223 bolt gun offered before Remington or Winchester offered a 223. Mine, also, was a tack driver at 100 yds., but only with 55 grain bullets. I think it had a one in twelve barrel twist. I just sold it a couple years ago for fear of a lack of parts. Mine was made in Yugo before the split of that country. A MkX Mini Mauser.
If memory serves, then any mini Mauser, 98 or 93 style bolt is a doddle to disassemble compared with a Mauser–Vergueiro. For true simplicity, the Arisaka bolt is pretty much unbeatable.
