I am one lucky man

John has shared most excellent advice. We know our bodies better than anyone. If things don’t feel or seem right, get it checked out.

2 1/2 years ago I didn't have to listen to my body. It was shouting through a bullhorn. One morning I was sitting on the edge of my bed when suddenly it felt like somebody slugged me upside the head. My legs felt wobbly but I managed to stumble out to the dining room to check my blood pressure and it was through the roof. Knowing some of the family medical history I called 911 immediately and was taken to Hanover (PA) Hospital and spent three days there.

I didn't have any cardiac symptoms but I got put through about every imaginable test and procedure to make sure I wasn't having a stroke. Happily the neurologist in Pittsburgh reported that I didn't have any organic damage.

When the neurologist reported to me by Closed Circuit TV or whatever system they had, I saw a wall full of pictures of heads with the brain displayed. I figured I'd never have a better chance, so I asked the neurologist if I could see the picture of my own head. And so I got to see a picture of my own brain. So now if anybody says to me, "You're an idiot, you don't have a brain in your head" I can say to them, "Yes I do, and I've got the pictures to prove it!"

Heart attacks, strokes and the like are nothing to fool with. Get help immediately.

Glad you made the right choice about something you never experienced. The rehab is a good experience getting people to think about exercising that DON’T and changing your diet. Stents are a great thing going from a highly blocked artery to wide open.

Had 2 stents May of 2022 and last December (6 months later)
I had more signs of something going on. My body rejected the stents, only less than 1% reject them. Lucky me!!

One stent was 50% blocked and 2 more stents were needed. The only option was quadruple bypass, December 27th I had surgery. Went back to cardiac rehab again. Everything is OK but afraid of blocking up again, I inherited the problem. Been 8 months.

If you block up again you can get more stents, I know someone with 9 of ‘em. If I block again, it’s another bypass surgery. GOOD LUCK, eat healthy and exercise daily. Wife and I walk 2 miles a day with a big hill. If it rains we have a treadmill or elliptical. We did this for at least 20 years. Picture of my second shirt, Larry
