I haven't had to do any yard work for years. I have lived in Key West for many years, ocean front without a blade of grass. Concrete, crushed coral, brick, mulch and Round-up. Paradise! Bought a lakeside house in central Florida on a half acre. Got a new lawn tractor and gas weed whacker. Mowing was kinda fun. Weed whacking sucks. Damn, I'm sore!

That looks to be about the same size load that I got... 18 yards?

We asked for 16. It came on the big truck and who knows how much it actually is.
The house has a sort of french drain around the northwest perimeter and we laid down a black corrugated pipe with weep holes in it after inserting it into a sock to keep out dirt, covered it with 3/8" gravel, put down a weedcloth on top of that to keep the dirt from sifting through the rock and now are covering that with clean fill before adding a layer of topsoil and grass. The project will also serve to smooth out the swale up to the house.
We can have two-story houses here but not three. Since the house sits on a granite ledge, the builder threw dirt up on 3 sides of the walk-out "basement".
We're not rushing through it. It's load a few, have a beer, load a couple, have a beer, load one, have a beer.
