The buyer wanted an open toe and a safety strap, and he wanted a loop around it. Also the tooling of course. I still have to wax the edges a little. There are no rivets or snaps inside the holster to scratch the gun. I came up with that outside snap arangement to achieve that even though someone out there somewhere has probably done it before. That screw in back holds the holster to the skirt and is in the exact spot to create a belt channel for a specific belt the customer already has. So it wil ride snug. This is only my fourth 1911 holster so it was quite a challenge. After tooling there was much to lose if the safety strap system didn't work in the end, but it does.

I love the "T" shaped strap and snap!! Just this morning I was looking at my holsters, when I get the rest out, they will almost cover the King sized bed. Then I have to convince the wife that I don't have the right one and need more. I was thinking of making a 45 holster for a "Wild Bunch" shoot this summer, thanks for the insperation. Ivan

Very nice! I like the safety strap feature to avoid metal in the holster. You might have "invented" something not done before.

Interesting to note you made the back flap so wide. Any particular reason for it? Your work has impressed me from the first time you started posting about it.

DW
