Nice one BulletBob, Would love to see a picture of yours out of the holster if you have one. Like those grips too. Thanks, Shoo

I have a 1971 Belgium that looks like new having action job as we speak. Just got a Practical looks like the one in the Gunsite? holster they shoot great. the newer one was owned by a department pistol smith and was so slick it needs nothing, well maybe Novak gold dot front sights. Hard to beat that older than me design.

My wife adopted this one from me.

They are great pistols.

YES ! We have a winner ! Good eye rags. Guess I need to be buyin' myself a 9mm Shoorod. Someday I'm gonna buy myself a Shooboy Hammer too. Maybe I should post a 'wanted to buy' ad in the classifieds ??? Shoo

I bought this one 10 years ago and had the hammer bobbed to avoid pinching the web of my hand. I had a wide trigger installed to remove the mag safety (yes, I'm aware of the arguments for and against. I still have the factory parts to restore if I sell the gun). I replaced the rubber stocks with some checkered Micarta panels. I like this pistol, but my 1911 is easier to shoot well and more accurate. This is my third Hi-Power. The first was a target sighted 9mm that I traded for a Novak customized 9mm. The original owner realized his mistake and several years later asked me if I'd part with the Novak. I shouldn't have, but I did. I've always liked the Browning, but I prefer larger calibers, so I got this .40. It is a fine gun and I really need to shoot it more. Eventually I'll replace the ambi-safety with a port-side only paddle.

Congratulations Shooboy, that's a nice looking piece! Here's a few of mine;

FN High Power I recently found at Cabela's

A consecutive pair of Capitain's, one is ANIB and the other has had the disconnect removed and is a shooter.

Then some place had this new 150th John Browning on sale and I felt it needed a good home. Browning said they made 225 of them.

I love those bi-tone BHP Practicals with the adjustable rear sight!

I always wanted one . . . then went with a bi-tone BDM instead back "in the day."

HUGE MISTAKE!

Alas, maybe someday I'll own one. It is a gun I let slip away back when they were new.

T.

PS: Another mistake? Selling an early Colt Combat Elite that I literally shot loose when shooting lots of competitions back in the '90s. Another gorgeous gun!!!

I have one that tears my hand open every time I shoot it. (It needs a hammer like Bullet Bob's.) Stupid thing!

Its trying to teach you to be less high-handed!

Nice BHP...but even better...I got a 39 no dash with a 4 digit serial....AND it hits right where I hold it and I got the target and 50 empty cases to prove it!! LOL

This has been fun Shoo, I always enjoy trading with forum members. More for the emails and comradere than the guns I think. Of course in this case when I can out trade a well known forum figure thats good too!!!!! I came out on top!! Nyah nyah!! LOL

WOW !!! To all you guys, those are some beautiful Hi-Powers ! Thanks for sharing !!!
Hey 66TAS, Glad you like that 39, and I'm very happy it shoots as well as you described. Beautiful gun, me thinks. Just 'cause she's 50 years old doesn't mean she can't hold her own on all the plastic guns out there. I'd love to see your target and hear about your range session. I just hope bean357 doesn't beat the crap out of me for not selling her that 39 !!! Sorry bean ! I'll let you know how the Browning shoots next Sunday when I get to try it out.
Now, one final thing. Has your wife claimed that sweet 39 or is she gonna let you play with it for awhile ??? LOL ! Shoo
P.S. Had fun too with this trade, let's do it again sometime ! Whadda ya got that you could trade for a S&W Model 3 First American that's all original nickeled finish and a three digit serial number, with no USArmy stamping ??? Check out the value before you respond !!!

Here's mine. Not a Practical, but I like it. Has had the stupid mag safety removed for easier use in IDPA competition.

She looked at and went..."Huh, yeah, thats nice hunney. Is my 650 cleaned yet, you are gonna polish it some like your 66 arent you?? When its all pretty I'll go with you and shoot it."

So I may be safe on the 39 but I better get busy on her 650!!

That #3 sounds waaaayyyy out of my league. Hmmmm, got a 99% Winchester 64 Deluxe WITH the original sling.....Nyaaa, you would never go for that one. LOL
