Congratulations and Welcome back to Kansas!!!
Kinda worked backwards for me. I spent close to 20 years in the gun business but found you couldnt make a living at it doing it for someone else. I was good enough at it I never had to worry about finding a job as someone was always trying to hire me. At 30 I decided if I was going to work for someone the rest of my life it was going to be a job that paid well so started college and got a Master's Degree in Accounting. Then I was introduced to the theory of finding a job. After a rough start I became an Internal Auditor for the last company I worked for. After 4 years I figured out the extreme overnight travel was hard on an old guy and the family life. Stayed with the company but moved to a property where I didnt have to travel. Would still be there if it wasnt for the downsizing. Now I am back in Accounting. That is terrific news! I spent 19 months unemployed (but who's counting?) After 3 months of looking, I decided to go back to school and learn a new trade. Pretty tough when you are over 50, but it lead to a great job opportunity. You can only lay brick so long...
Curtis, its great that you found a job worth taking. I am happy for you but it was nice having someone as knowledgeable as you in the same town. Will miss your fountain of knowledge as I always could count on your opinion which I valued and trusted. Thanks for all the input that you gave me and for telling me to join the SWCA.Good luck in Kansas!!!
