Woke up in the middle of the night shivering and cold. I snuggled up to Mrs. QD67 to keep warm.

Then the hacking cough started. And the headache.

Now I have a long sleeve t-shirt on and a heavy hoodie, and I'm still cold.

This went through my office, so I'm not too surprised I got it.

Hot soup and tea today.

I had it a while back .Tested positive for Covid . The cough hung on for a long time .

The Babysitr's are finally getting over RSV. You dont want that stuff. one week of he**, then one week of recoup...tested neg for Covid and flu...thats the best the doc could come up with, still slightly tough to breathe even after steroids

Get your RSV shots!

Got mine about a month ago. The pharmacist said she gives a heck of a lot more of them than the Covid shots. She said many people are afraid of the Covid shot.

I had Covid (diagnosed by my doctor at her office,) quarantined at home! The doctor said to wait about 2 weeks before I went to get the "alphabet" shot, which I did.

I got the lot this fall, including RSV for the first time. My doctor said that RSV used to mostly affect children, but now is appearing in adults as well. So far, so good.

The Flu/Covid or whatever, was going around our town around Christmas. A few people got it along with the wife and I, and we are all still alive. Imagine that.

Buddy said something went through his office just before Christmas. Wife was supposed to meet some ex-coworkers for a girls' day/lunch. Canceled due to one of them puking all night followed by fever this AM. 'Tis the season.

Yep. Got Covid about a month ago. Didn't know much about the disease, so I went on-line. It basically said something like, "If you're under 60 and have had your annual Covid vaccine, you should be okay. If you're over 60 (which I am) and haven't had your annual Covid vaccine (which I haven't), well...at least you've lived a full life." Or words to that effect.:(

Another site said, "If you get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids, it should only last about a week-and-a-half. If you don't get plenty of rest and don't drink lots of fluids, it should only last about 10 days."

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out the difference between and week-and-a-half and ten days.

Bottom line...it's a virus and has to run it's course.

As Abe Lincoln said, "Don't believe everything you read on the internet." And especially re medical advice. Allegedly Mark Twain said, "Don't read medical books. You might die of a misprint" All the more true in the age of the Digital Echo Chamber, aka the internet! Your first quote pretty much sums up the above  Fortunately my gf teaches molecular biology and genetics at univ. so I was ablet to avoid most of the misinformation and horsepuckey.

It seems that the effects of COVID have depended on a lot of factors. Some people may be relatively resistant and have little reaction if they get exposed. Similarly, reaction to the vaccine varies. Our immune systems are all "wired" differently. And how much we circulate among the general populace probably counts as well. The vaccines are just intended to give your body more of a fighting chance and keep you out of the ER (or worse) as well as lower your infection level to reduce your chance of infecting someone else. You're probably really healthy and not much of a social butterfly so got through it OK, which ultimately is all that matters :)

I'll be 66 in March. Never had a flu shot or any stupid covid shot in my life. I just do what my mother always to me during the 'Cold and Flu' season. Wash your hands often and keep your hands away from your mouth, nose & eyes. I have been knocked on my butt for a few days due to whatever crud is lurking about but it's very seldom.

I would recommend a covid test. They are very simple and you can do it at home. I tested positive the week after TG and immediately started Paxlovid. I tested negative about 6 days later.
