I had me a real nice little reality check yesterday.

Well, I survived the ordeal. They took a couple of biopsies but that was just routine. There was no sign whatsoever of any pathology at all. The part of the report I like the best is the part where it says NO ULCERS were found and the part where it says NO POLYPS were found. That is a whole lot better than my last time out. I had several polyps, a couple of which were almost too big to get out then and there, and 3 ulcers one of which was right close to killing me.

I have now graduated from the 3-year schedule to the 5-year schedule. It seems my biggest problem is the hiatal hernia. It is characterized as "large" but I've had it for years and it is not growing or changing. Not gettin' any better but not gettin' any worse either.

I'm deeee-lighted to have no polyps or ulcers and I'm DEEEE-DEEEE-lighted to be on the 5 years schedule. At my age somethin' else will probably get me before that. Anyway I'm happy to be done with that and now I can get on with my bidness! :)

For anyone reading this thread and thinking "I should get that done" I urge you to do it. The prep is the worst and if you are afraid of that then that is the definition of a wuss. I will say the prep will tend to dehydrate you, so in addition to drinking the laxative, drink some water.

I was diagnosed two years ago with stage 3 colon cancer. The surgery went fine, but 9 months after the chemo it has spread. If I could go back 7-8 years and get the test done I would. I have had the test done in the past, but it was probably 8-10 years, so I skipped a possibly life saving procedure.
