Those things are the damn hardest to load that I've ever encountered. OK, they are the only ones I've encountered, but they are B I T C H E S to load!!!!! :D Kill my thumbs.

I am going to have to find one of those speed loaders ASAP.

Does it ever get any easier to load the magazines by hand???

It does help if you leave them fully loaded for a few days. The mag loaders are sure great though.

A few days? Heck, they've been left fully loaded for longer than that - days to at least a week. I shot both empty this afternoon (that's all I wanted to do because I shot from my deck - range had an hour wait) and reloaded. PITA to reload.

I'm gonna find me one of those speed loaders. :)

This video show close to how I load my magazines without a speed loader. The only difference is, I use the thumb of the hand that is holding the magazine, to push the round in and tilt. Watch, and you'll get the idea. Works all the way to the last round on even the toughest magazines.

Loading a Magazine Easily

I had the same problem with my 9C. I'd only owned .22's and 1911 style .45s, and never had a problem with either. But the 9C made me hurt enough to look for a solution, which I've found: Uplula.

Trying to load the mag like in the video does not work for me. The follower in both mags that came with my 9c will not move at all without A LOT of pressure exerted on it. Trying to put the next round in by that method results in it sliding off just about every time.

+1 on the Uplula. This loader really makes it fast to load your magazine. It especially helps load that last round that is extremely difficult to load.

Actually, with my 9C, the spring is so tight that I can't push it down far enough with the Uplula to fit in the last round. But putting 1 round in by hand, if I really need that last one, beats putting them all in.

Besides, I've just gotten full-size 17-round mags for it, when size is not important.

Did I say 17?? I meant SEVEN (7). Sorry, my error. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Not that Uplula's are greatly expensive, but I randomly tried the Glock loader that came with a friend's new G23, and it worked great with 9c mags. The same day, I saw tons of them at a show for $5. Worth a shot, if you ever see one.

The Uplula is nice, but I occasionally have trouble getting it back after inserting the last round (the little push-down piece gets stuck). This could be because of brand new mags with stiff springs.

Uplula. And no the mags do not get easier to load - at least not after only a year.

Well at least it's not just me! They are quite a pain and everywhere by me is out of the 9mm uplula loaders.

I can't wait for the 17 rd mags to come in that I ordered. But they're backed up like six months. I cleaned my mags today and getting those springs back in was a chore!

Yeah, that way would be more difficult. That's why I place the round vertically and guide it with my opposite hand while pushing down on the bullet tip with the magazine thumb as if I was clicking a ballpoint pen. Once it goes down far enough, I tip the nose and she pops right in. But Uplula is good if you want to buy one.

Never had that problem with the UpLula loader getting stuck in any mags. Never had much trouble loading by hand either. UpLula is just way faster. It (UpLula) should be the second thing you should buy along with your cleaning kit. A must have.

I went to the range this morning, shot 2 boxes of ammo and had to reload by hand. My left thumb, right forefinger & thumb are a bit sore. It got a bit easier or I just got a bit more proficient at loading the magazine at that time.

By the end of the last box though, I was really tired of trying to get the damn rounds in and was glad to be done. Gun show in town this weekend, but not sure I want to deal with all the crowds to see if I can find an Uplula. May just order one from somewhere.

I need a few more mags, but I guess that's just dreaming right now...unless someone wants to sell any extras they might have. :)

When I first got mine I couldnt get the twelve rounds in them. But after awhile I can get them fully loaded they are still stiff though.
