I just realized I've never even held a N frame.....

One more old guy recommending you look at a Model 28. It is without a doubt one of the very best shooting, hard working, guns you will ever wrap your hands around. Get one and shoot the dickens out of it. You won't be sorry. Below is a picture of my every day truck, woods, horseback, working Model 28-2.

That is a beautiful gun. The Stocks look great on there.

I recently picked up this 22-4, unusual for a new S&W but I like it. A 9 year old wouldn't find this one hard to shoot. Of course those grips aren't going to stay on it.

While a lot of ranges may be able to rent you a 686, unfortunately that won't satisfy your curiosity about the N-frames, because the 686 is an L-frame.

oh man...

I don't know where my brain is today. Fortunately I have not made any monetary decisions based on my 686 being built with the wrong frame!

I´ve held one, but never shot an N Frame before. However this soon will change, when I lay my hands on a recently bought Brazilian 1917. I expect to be delighted.

Oooo, that sounds really nice. I'm jealous. I said somewhere else I'd rather have a .44 special N frame but I have like 600 rounds of .45 ACP in my basement begging to be shot and that would be as good of a reason as any to get a .45 ACP revolver. LOL. Either that or I need to try and trade it for some .38. But the thing is, .45 acp is a lot cheaper than .44 special to buy.....

Let us know how you like it and of course we'll need pics. If you don't want to start a new thread you can post it in here. Although a thread on it's own would be good too. Maybe do both? :)

Hi ABPOS, I already posted its 3 pics, box included, somewhere in this board but if you wish I can try and post them again. It´s a second batch 1946 shipped with all serial # matching, but the stocks, which I could´t remove to inspect, because it´s still in the seller´s house.
The waiting really hurts, but the transfer to my name has to be done in compliance with brazilian army regulations.
I have with me some 80 AR loaded cartridges and just got by mail a Lee Loader, so I expect a lot of "slow" fun, but hell, I´m not in a hurry.

Here you are! Hope it Works !
