Today I am over 10K down in my 401K! It seems everyday that Obama or geitner opens their mouth my 401K that I check online several times a day, takes a huge hit! They dont grandstand for a day and it comes back some.

Don't mean to be contrary, but my retirement lump sum is about to be paid to me and much is ear marked for the market. I kind of hope it stays down about 4 weeks before starting the biggest bull market in history. I've got a number of guns I'd like to buy. Hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone.

Your lucky! I would load up on highly over depressed stocks. Then when they double or gain about 300 percent, sell. It will happen to many. However, after the market rebounds, you also are going to see hyper inflation! But if you can double your 401K that should help!

Feral, if you've been watching the news over the last few months, you'll notice that every time he flaps his jaws, the market takes a dive. He's been doing that so often that its no longer a coincidence. As you've noted, he flaps, the market tanks. He shuts up, it kind of recovers, only to have him give another speech. By now he's got to have been told many times of the relationship.

But he keeps on saying things that make the market jittery. I'm guessing he's doing it on purpose. Today's revelations make the auto industry basically panic. He's fired the head of GM, now Government Motors. Its stock is now worthless due to him saying the company isn't viable. Hint: GM probably isn't a great buying opportunity this week. GM is a component of the Dow.

He's not sharing the wealth, he's spreading the poverty.

feralmerril - Hard for me to have sympathy for your ten grand loss. I'm down about 300 grand right now.

That was just today, I also can just about match your 300K loss. Mine is about 200 ish to date, not counting what my house and a rental I have dropped, and haveing to lower rent on the rental. I feel your hurt tom! I dont know if your still working and have time on your side or not. I am retired in the twilight of my life. I am not worried for my sake, but am for my much younger wife and all our kids and grandkids-- also one great grand kid.

Take heart. It is an ill wind that is blowing good to some.I just read that George Soros called it a '' good recession" because he has made 1.1 BILLION dollars since last summer. You may recall he is the leftist one worlder who hates the USA and has financed every liberal and antigun cause.

feralmerril - Retired here also. What saves me is a really good pension, soc sec, and some other investments that have weathered the storm a little better. Just my wife, my age, and myself. We've been together in one form or another since seventh grade and are both very conservative people which has helped our situation a great deal.

I wish I was only down 10K. I lost half of my investments and I am 50. I'll never retire but the illegals and deadbeats will be redistributed much of my wealth.
No matter...life is too short and I am laying my treasures up elsewhere.

Yeah. This all began with Obama. That bastard. HE destroyed our system. He's NOT doing everything he can to save our FREAKING WAY OF LIFE. I hate him. (The sarcasm is highlighted for the sarcasm deficient.)

The same things were said of FDR. He came into a situation that he had to deal with and he did the best he could do. BO could walk on water and some folks would still be trying to beat him up for his "elitism".....

Times are tough all over the world. We are going through something we haven't seen for a long while. Suck it up. You can't ride a great wave for 50 years and not expect to hit the rocks sooner or later.

I wish people in general would "shutt" up and just appreciate what they have instead of constantly bitching about the way things ought to be.

Plant a garden. Walk to the library. Help a neighbor out that is worse off than you are. DIG IN AND DEAL WITH IT. America has been through worse than this.

Rant over. I apologize in advance.

People still own stocks? I thought everyone would have changed those into shotgun shells, canned goods and seeds by now. Shrug.

I'm waiting for the Dow to hit 5000ish.

A second amen on that. He is too clever to make the same mistake twice - he has to be thinking it gives him an advantage.

A third amen. The worser capitalism looks, the better case these knotheads can make for socialism.
