It has been 15 days since I sent my trade gun and my money to buds and they have yet to ship my items. Yet, when I made the deal I was told 3-5 days. This is absolute bull ****. When questioned they just say "we're busy". I was even told "it's been sent to shipping". That was on the 6th but it still hasn't shipped out. Grrrrrrrrre

Yep, that's dealing with Buds. They bounced me around one too many times, no Buds for me. My LGS will give me better prices then they will anyway.

You don't deal with buds if you are in a hurry.
Trading in a gun to them? Sounds like you were in a BIG hurry. Always sell local to get the most $.

I'm not bashing.....I am venting!! Plus, if they deserve it....well, they get it
Vent away. Just pointing out that Buds' CS apparently not getting rave reviews based on this and the other thread. I almost bought from Buds but was turned off by their "VIP" gimmick offering discounts to a select few but not all.

I'll add something. I signed up for email alerts on a few different guns. I will see posts on other parts of this forum mentioning that Buds has the Shield in stock. I haven't received a single email from them.

Personally, I think Bud's is great - but then I don't need the gun tomorrow - I guess as you get older (and accumulate) you have less time to shoot all your guns. I like their 90 day layaway - allows the purchase of some high-end stuff with less sting to the wallet (well seemingly). My local "table top" FFL has $20 transfers from Bud's.

Bud's is very slow.

I am told that they really don't have most of the guns in stock, rather, when you order and pay, they order the gun from their source, then, when they get it, they ship it to you.

One of my FFLs no longer deals with Bud's for that reason. He gets guff from customers who have asked him to order from Bud's and add his transfer fee. Then, when the gun takes more than a week to arrive, the customers get angry at him.

Yea I stay away from buds thought about trying to order a Mosin Negate rifle thought them. After reading review's on the rifles in question (some people where complaining they where unshootable in very good condition) and a google search for "buds CS". I decided buds is a great place to look up prices.

I dont mind a long wait if yer told its a long wait. I hate being deceived. Dont tell me 3-5 days if you mean 3-5 weeks

I've used them a couple times. In their defense; I think they realized they were having a problem recently when they implemented the little red-circle-with-line-across over a Christmas present logo. I got an email from them; it means 'if you order this, it won't ship until after Christmas'.

I'll say that I've not experienced the 'super-fast' delivery that I've read in the reviews. It takes them about 8 days for my item to show up where I am.

They serve a great purpose; they keep prices at the LGS within reason.

Plus; I'll always be a fan after that smokin' deal on the 3" Model 10 Aussie cop trade-ins.

Your LGS won't accept guns from Bud's because they undersell him.

Every dealer I know hates them. I don't, if I'm negotiating pretty hard on a new gun, I can truthfully say Bud's has it for this with free shipping. I'll pay you $25 more since that's what it costs me to bring the gun in through my LGS. 95% of the time, the LGS would rather have the deal than let Bud's have it.

I've always had good service from Bud's, sometimes a little slow but seldom very long.

The Holiday season is here you know, as in, MANY, MANY, SALES.

I received a message from them on 12-11-12 that due to OVERWHELMING ORDER VOLUME IN RECENT WEEKS,
they were placing some restrictions on ordering some items to allow their staff to catch up.

Xmas looks good for Bud's.

This is the "I WANT MINE NOW GENERATION", at least Bud's does do well for most of their customers.

Bud's has also expanded it's overall business, services and phone ordering recently,

It is Christmas time...and the gunstores are rocking hard!

I just got a Browning 1886 carbine from a Cabela's gun library. Picked it up last night. I had to 'urge' this particular Cabela's to find my FFL fax...and was a bit upset they didn't answer the phone or respond to messages left regarding the issue for a day and a half.

However..looking back on my deal(said with new cool gun in hand)..I ordered on Monday last week...and picked the gun up yesterday(Tuesday)...I think a lot of my 'upsetness' was actually caused by my impatience and lust to have my hands on the gun.

I will say I don't give a shiny nickel who you're dealing with, "bidness is bidness" and should be treated as such. If your word doesn't mean much, then you are , as a person, or company, worth little and that just affirms what type of so and so you are. People should be wary of dealing with you as an individual, or as a company. There are circumstances that occassionally happen that may cause a delay, but, otherwise put up or shut up, or just be what you are, a lying piece of dirt. I wouldn't do business with anyone who thinks so little of themselves or a customer to do this.

I don't mean to hijack this thread. But here's an example of great customer service: Bought a new Moen faucet for the kitchen and a part was defective. I called Moen and they overnighted the part free via Fedex. One day is all it took from my call. Amazing.
