22's are a hoot to shoot!
A 4 screw .22 Jet and a Model 18 that get shot, indoors only!

The 617 is way heavier than need be, but it's a good trainer for the 686-6.

Speaking of trainers, this 18-3 taught quite a few Colorado State Patrol cadets the basics of double-action hand-gunning. The High Standard is the most accurate hand gun I've ever shot. These last 2 go on almost every range trip, indoors, outdoors, rain, dust storm...like a Timex, take a licking and keep on ticking.

Other than the stocks being brutalized by some goon this is a
July 1911-shipped Heavy Frame Target. I've had the upper side
plate screw replaced and its push-off problem cured. Neat little I-frame .22.

My other one is a postwar K-22 with a 4-digit serial number.

Too much fun, although the country song says there's no such athing.

.22 rimfire, the best handgun cartridge ever invented.
Ok, maybe a little exaggerated, but not much. A inexpensive, light recoiling just fun cartridge for the whole family. I only have 4 1/2 .22 handguns at the moment. The half being a Kimber conversion on my Colt 1911.

Try as I might, I can’t seem to build up my supply of CF cartridges but so deeply, either by purchase of factory ammo or reloading or both. OTOH, I was able pre-COVID to stop by my LGS or big box store and buy the equivalent of a case or more of CF in 22 LR for $50 or less... which I did! And fairly often!

Soooo, if I have a random opportunity to visit the range, the likelihood is that I’ll have one or more 22s in my kit, usually a K22 and/or a High Standard. I love my 9mms, 32s, 38s and all the others, but for a carpe diem range experience, the little rimfires get the nod!

For revolvers, these three are my mainstays, two 17s and an 18.

I have a lot of .22 pistols, but this one continues to ring my chimes - a 41, of course!

I also have many .22 rifles, but this Winchester Model 75 sporter, vintage of 1956, is the most accurate hands down.

...and there are some that defy categorization!

I'm a big fan of 22lr revolvers. Here's my 1939 K-22 Outdoorsman. This gun, IMO, is the .22 version of the Registered Magnum. Absolutely impeccable in every aspect of the gun makers art. My others are a 1953 K-22 Combat Masterpiece, a 17-2, and a Colt Officers Model Special from 1949. The Colt is the most accurate revolver I have, in any caliber. It's the top one, shown with its .38 caliber sibling.

I just picked up a second generation Colt Woodsman. The outside is rough shows lots of honest wear. A avid bear hunter carried it often. The mechanics are good as is the bore.
On the revolver side a nice M48 is on it's way here. It has TTT just like a K22 I have so they will make a good pair.
