Title says it. I have a Braun maker now, am happy with it. But it's not keeping or getting the coffee hot enough when on the hot plate. So.................. Time for a new one.

I don't do single cups but usually drink out of my 40oz travel mug. Figure 35oz in the mug, so a 5-12 cup maker seems about right.

Need to stay under $100, I don't do fancy cold pours nor expresso. Just plain black coffee but I want it to taste good.

Cuisinart has one for about $70 on Wal-Mart. Seems to be decent but I haven't bought that brand in years, no clue how their quality is these days.

I already have a good grinder, so no need for a combo unit.

So fire away with your favs!

Yeah, I looked at those too. Black & Decker has the same thing for the same price.

I am enamored with the adjustable heat setting on the hot plate though.

Love my Bonavita drip coffee maker
Good bourbon in the evening to sit me down
Good coffee in the morning to pick me up
BTW. HEAVY METAL coffee from the Sturgis Coffee Co is very good

KISS. I have a Melita 6 cup pour over. My wife thinks I am crazy but she still drinks my coffee after all these years. This year she tried to update me for Christmas. She got a hot plate and an insulated carafe. 2 problems, the carafe was insulated and the hot plate didn't have an auto shut off.

I now have a new hot plate with an auto shut off and will be getting a glass carafe from Melita. I use grinder and put it in the filter with the boiling hot water from the stove. Doesn't get any hotter.

I had a Cusinart and when it went bad I bought a cheap Mr Coffee from Walmart. I drink plain black coffee but I like it strong. The Mr Coffee requires more coffee to reach same strength. Even using the little strong button. My wife thinks it’s funny because my cheapness has caught up with me. Do not buy a Mr Coffee. Pay once cry once.

They're all, regardless of brand, made in China these days, so pick your poison. I wouldn't buy the cheapest, but I wouldn't drop $200 on one either.

Wife's boss bought a fancy espresso machine for their workplace. I think she said it was over a grand. No way I'd spend that much on it, but they all seem to enjoy the fancy machine and the coffee it brews.

Pete, microwaved coffee ? What are you communist or something? I set mine on auto to brew an hour before I wake up. I like a little age on it. My friends thought that was weird at deer camp. Now they do it.

I buy the cheapest coffee makers and they seem to last as long as the expensive ones and when/if they do go out I don't mind spending 20 bucks or so on a new. A new one will look nicer, cleaner, and somehow taste a little better.

Hands down a 8 or 12 cup Faberware percolator is the fastest and hottest coffee maker we have ever owned. All stainless inside and out. We have moved on to Kreug since our coffee drinking has gone way down and have to admit these coffee makers are the easiest to use.
