I have a potential trade into a model 29-2. Its a 6 inch or 6.5 not sure which and I know it has muzzle wear on one side... no box papers etc. I assume turn ring and other normal used marks... Pending a revolver check?

The last 29 I got was a pristine 4 inch with no box for 500.00 and shes a nice one. Not sure why I want a 6 inch but you guys know how it is. Thinkin of trading an ar varient toward it. I can get other AR's but somewhat affordable 29's seem to be harder to find in realistic numbers.

I tried searching here but a simple model 29 search was not pulling up results in the search this forum for me- or there was not much recent?

I am assuming a 700-800 price on the low end of normal for a clean used one? Am I high or low?

Thanks in advance guys!

I would try to stay closer to the 700 range. In my area I am seeing two 29-3 for sale in the 835-900 range but they have boxes and other items.

$700 to $800 would be really cheap. I found a 29-2 in the condition you describe - muzzle wear, turn ring, no box, normal use scuffs, etc. I paid $775 2 years ago and it took 6 months of searching to find one in my price range. I believe prices on all used N frames have gone up over the last 2 years.

Not enough info!

The 29-2 was made from 1962-1983 which means it was made in an S serial prefix and an N serial prefix! This has a large influence on the price! Is it in fact a 6" or a 6 1/2"? The 6 1/2" will bring a small premium. Does it come with a presentation case, blue box or nothing! What are the grips on the gun? The prices you have been quoted would be for a late N serial prefix, no box, rubber grips , probably in less than 90% condition!
IMHO jclect

If you are trading and no cash is involved I say do it. You can always get another AR variant down the line....they are so ubiquitous.

I would be willing to bet its a 6.5 inch from the holster wear.More common with the 6.5 than the 6 inch.Reason being that extra half inch space on most holsters that accommodate a 6,5 inch. That being said I would expect the 6.5 to be worth more than the 6 inch length.

Thanks for the response... the deal has not gone anywhere yet... I am guessing it failed before I could get momentum... I may push it but I am noit sure one way or another.
