I Need Surgery for Detached Tendon in Shoulder

Mrs. Pawncop recently had rotator cuff surgery along with cleaning out her shoulder from an episode frozen shoulder. Part of the procedure was to reattach the bicep muscle. She had issues with the bicep swelling and was also very bruised. I hope you have no issues like this, as she has had a rough time with it.

An update on the shoulder. It now is 6 months since the procedure and the doctor says it is fully healed. That doesn't mean it's back to normal. As someone else pointed out and my doctor also indicated, it will be another 6 months before all is "normal" and my strength has returned. I have little or no discomfort and my range of movement is normal. Building up strength is now the goal.

I am done with rehab. I have a final list of exercises to do to build up strength.

My left shoulder also needs to be done. I am to call the doctor in Sept to schedule that surgery. So I have the summer/fall to regain strength in my fixed arm.

I resumed shooting in late March. I found the lack of strength in my arm was an issue shooting a pistol, so I mainly shot 22 rifles. Now I can breakout the Magnums!

I had trouble with my shoulders dislocating when I was in my early thirties. They would dislocate sometimes in my sleep. The operation at that time was to cut the tendon, drill a hole, put the tendon through, tie a knot in it and use a couple staples to hold it. They don't do that now, but I am sure the pain is still there. DO THE THERAPY! I am now eighty and have had no problem since except for a little lack of motion.

Look folks, you can quote yourself.

A couple weeks ago I thought I was superman. I was getting thing done, replacing some siding on my barn, putting in garden, fixing screen doors, putting in lights in my carport. Then I missed the bottom step on a ladder and fell on my left shoulder. I severely tore my rotator cuff and pulled a staple from a former surgery. The Dr. said it was to torn up to fix except with a total reverse shoulder replacement.

The MRI picture looks like a missile strike. They take the ball and cup out and replace with the reverse. ball on top and cup on bottom. I read the procedure is pretty successful, but as you all know there will be THERAPY.

I have been there and know you have to do it, so I will. As of now I am waiting on a surgery date sometime in June because of the pandemic. I am not in unbearable pain at this time, only if I try to lift my arm. I told the Doc that if I didn't lift my arm I could probably still be able to rototill my garden.
