*Hi, I'm Tom and I have a <STRIKE>drinking</STRIKE> gun-buying problem.*
New member from the Tulsa, OK area. I've been a shooter for approximately 40 years - I don't actually remember being taught how to shoot. I like just about anything that goes bang although I'm not too keen on shotguns, and I have a lot more handguns than anything else - they take up less room in my safe than long guns and are just generally more fun to me. I'd say I fall into the "accumulator" category, rather than collector.
Over the past few years I've gone queer for S&W revolvers and keep getting more of them. My first S&W was a Brazilian 1917 that I bought in 1986 for $225 and I still have it (and just about every other gun I've ever bought). I've gathered a fair number of other S&Ws over the years from .22 to .500 and depending on how you arrange them, could be said to have a "collection" or two.
Why might I hate this forum? After looking at some of the gorgeous examples posted on these pages, I'm afraid I might fall into the snare of getting guns that are "too nice to shoot."
