So far I cannot find one in this area, just missed one at a shop who says they have fifteen more on the way. I'm a regular customer there and they said one was mine when they come in for $378.00. I do not have a lot of patience, me want toy now! Ok Im done snivelling now.

$378.00 is a very good price, I gave $450.00 plus tax for mine. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, maybe tomorrow.

$378.00 is a very good price. Care to share which gun store?

Cabelas in Hamburg had them on special saturday for $429
33 sold in 90 minutes. i missed out

Hi all, the shop is East Coast Gun Sales in Duncansville Pa., phone 814-695-2104. They have a web site, do a search and it will get you there. They claim to have fifteen more on the way sometime in September. Now I do get five percent discount there and that is quite likely the price they quoted me. Just missed another one in Clearfield Pa today, had five in, sold all same day, had one on hold but was in the box and did not want to get it out and fondle someone else's rifle. Did find a M-10-7, clean and relitively cheap to take home.

Thanks! I will give them a call. Perhaps you can get your discount bumped up to 10% if you bring them in loads of new business!!

I have been searching like crazy in the Cleveland area and these just don't exist. Its driving me nuts!

Thanks for the info. I knew this rifle was going to be HOT but 33 in 90 minutes is very HOT! You'll probably be seeing some these on GunBroker.com for $500!

My gun dealer called his Minneapolis distributor yesterday and S&W is backed up on this new item already and very few dealers & customers know about this one. My brother-in-law has 2,000 rounds through his with zero problems.

This new rifle is getting nutty on GunBroker.com

2 more on auction today:

First bid on one auction is $499 with "Buy It Now" at $550.

The second auction has minimum bid of $475.

Hot!! Hot!!!

I am not impressed by this rifle. IMO you would be better off getting a dedicated 22 upper from CMMG or Spike that uses the Blackdog mags. YMMV.

Again thanks for the link. Just shot them an email. Got a reply a few minutes later that they just today got in 6 more, with 3 available for sale. Make that two available after my call to them. :D I did not get the 5% discount, so tell them to add another 5% off to your purchase as a referral fee. :p

Thanks for the info, the shop called me this morning and said they had one with my name on it! Will be going to the shop soon. Who knows maybe a good snivel now and again works! Ok, got there and got it. Shop said this shipment was $20.00 bucks more than last, different distributor, so it cost me $400.00 and tax and title. Dumped a cheap BSA reflex red dot on it and off to the range tomorrow.

Hey Mack, I gave the the new upper deal some thought but decided I would like a dedicated whole rifle, hope this one lives up to the hype! There's a good artical in the new Shooting Times on it that thinks its better than sliced bread. But I have learned to take these reviews with a grain or two of salt!

I'd say it all depends on just what purpose you have in mind for the gun. I love the AR platform so it makes perfect since to have a 15-22.

Now, if your purpose is to have a training aid, perhaps a .22 conversion is the better choice. I think the only advantage would be the weight of gun in both .22lr and .223 would closer to the same. Even that, IMHO is not a big advantage for the conversion, however.

Perhaps cost is a factor. The .22 conversion+an AR would be less expensive than a 15-22+and AR. Still not a big advantage.

The 15-22 is a quality gun that's fun to shoot. For me...I think it's worth owning. Others may choose to go a different route...

The 3rd auction on GunBroker.com ended this afternoon with no winner. 8 bids were made and the high bid of $475 did not meet the "reserve".

Looks like these rifles are going to be sold at the $500 mark!

Anything "new" will give some sellers the idea that they can get retail or MSRP on an item. Same goes for cars. Try to get a deal on a new Camaro at this time.

Well, $499 isn't so bad. It's not like some of those crazy auctions where something sells for double what the normal asking price is.
