I have a four year old RCBS Chargemaster 1500. Very good peice of equipment, until it died last week. Just went totaly blank, like I turned it off. Power supply is OK. I use it for rifle ammo, still use the old Uniflow for pistol stuff. So I call RCBS and they said mail it to us with $45.00 and we will either fix it or send you a new one, in either case you get a new one year warrenty. He suggested UPS.
So off I go the 50 miles to the UPS store. The lady asked what is it and I told her a powder scale. She said she could not ship it because it had gun powder in it and to take it to the main UPS hub which BTW does not open until 3:00 pm (it's now 9:45 in the morning. I told her there was no gunpowder in it, it was used to measure it, not store it. She gets out her book and opens it to a paragraph about "Firearms and Amunition" and shoves it in my face. I read it and nothing applied but that didn't mattter to her. This thing had touched gun powder and was evil.
So wondering what to do with five hours in Nampa Idaho I dropped by the U.S. Post office. She asked me the standard question about fragile, dangerous etc. to which I said no. Cost me $12.75 with $350.00 of insurance.
I'm glad I don't have to ship guns with those clowns.
