If A Man Can Dream It....An RM Story

Dave, wish I could be shooting with you. Maybe someday. While I don't know if it ever could happen, it sure would be a great time to have a bunch of our forum friends to a big Barbecue/shootin' wingding. Great company, good shootin' and tall tales and good people, what more could we want. All my very best my friend, Joe.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!

Honestly though, I think it would be great if we could stage the S&W Forum Members International Barbeque and B.S. Session......hopefully on a gun range somewheres.....

I don't post a lot around here, but this takes the cake!

There've been some nice guns around here over the years, and some spectacular ones. That one's in the spectacular category and it's on the top of the pile along with Onomea's Bowen 45 Colt!

Like others I can't wait to see the leather you come up with for that one!

You oughta get another one and have a pic taken of you in uniform with them both, like with the 1911s.
Nothing against 1911s. In fact, they're my favorite bottom feeder.
It's just that there's nothing like big-bore N-frame goodness.
N-frames with .44 or .45 caliber holes are the epitome of revolvers.
Or, is that just me?

Would I be correct in guessing that you're a Texas Ranger?
Your uniform doesn't look like ND, WI or WI to me. Neither does the shield or the double rig.

That's a sweet rig. That would definitely be my barbecue rig, if I had more than one 1911.
I'd like to have another 1911, but I'm a bit obsessed with I, J, K, L, and N frame Smiths, right now.
The older I get, the more I like not having to chase brass.
Plus, old Colt and Smith revolvers have a class and beauty that NO auto can match.

I need to call that guy who has the 1953 38/44 Outdoorsman.
I'm tempted to make it into a .44 Spl. After all, it IS my favorite revolver cartridge, and always has been.

No Sir, I'm not a Ranger,
although I been accused of being the 'Long Ranger' by the defense counsel a time er two. :D

(Actually a special investigator for a DAs office.)

Got a pic with revolvers somewhere....Those pictures were done on a lark...

Just for the amusement and fun of a bunch of other ol codgers here's abouts,
who will remain nameless....Sal....Iggy...Wyo and the rest of you, ya know who you are...;)

Sweet custom. I rue the day I passed on a cut barrel pre war non reg for like $650 a few years back. The possibilities would have been endless. I still have a beater re-nickel HD that I'm gonna get bored out one day.

Just a short philosophical note about the whole concept (with which I most heartedly agree.) You started with arguably one of the two or three most significant models of S&W ever made, and changed it. Some collectors might run from the room screaming "Heresy!" but I feel like you have made a significant improvement with that specific gun to raise it to a whole new level. Should you start with an RM as your "donor gun?" I'll quote Hallmark, "When you care enough to send the very best." Well done!

Best regards,
Froggie

Well, we all purty much feel the pre-war long double action is at the top of the game.

So, why not have the best of the best....I thought so too! ;):D

Now, look at what you've done gone and done done! You got ever'body thinkin' they want to be a "Rexall Ranger" with some fancy shootin' arn, since now they have been inspired by your good taste - at least in six-guns. HAW-HAW!

Boys, our own version of Elmer Keith has done us proud, now ain't he?

Dave, you don't need to send no ham to Ala-dam-bam, although that would be a mighty kind gesture. We here know a thang or two about how to cook hog meat, just as them boys do out in Llano, or thereabouts.

Me, I ain't never had the nerve to pose for a portrait with myself well heeled and hatted. My face would prubly bust the glass out of the camera. But, them near perfessional posed shots of your ownself look ever bit as good as anything I ever saw in "Sixguns By Keith". Keep it up, Amigo. You inspire us all - in one way or another.......

Sin El Diablo,

"Dangerous"

I'll bet if you found any pictures of Mr. Dave they' look some like some I saw onc't of that Col. Don't remember his name right off but he was an unrepentant sinner from what I heard. You need to coble up one of them Bucheimer Marshall holsters for that shooter. Nicely played. Mark

I guess I don't know what a barbque gun is. I have the idea one is gaudy and over the top looking for attention. This is not it. A collection of ideas, steel, wood and talent into a practical, functional and awesome package. I hope to see a picture someday with it laying on a wiley Wapiti!
