If you could only buy one more handgun

if it was only one more.. I would like it to be my late father's K22... the first pistol I ever shot... sadly stolen in the 1970's never to show up again... that is the correct way to end my "collection"

I understand.

I am not one to put much sentimental attachment to inanimate objects. I have mentioned here before that almost ten years ago I had a gun stolen from me. It was a Ruger Standard that my dad gave to me for high school graduation.

It would be nice to have it back.

At the risk of feeling too special and getting myself into big trouble I'm going to say that if I could only buy one more gun for the rest of my life, then it would be a Smith & Wesson Model 629.

I've wanted a 629 for years, but every time that I was about to get one something always happened to stop me. Nevertheless, I'd still like to own one someday.

Mossberg 590 Night Stick
Not because I think it's a great idea , I like a butt stock ... but these legal sawed-off shotguns came out when DT was running the show and it must anger the left to no end to see these weapons being sold ...

I would buy one just to thumb my nose at the leftist bunch & Joe ... !

I would also like a Henry Axe in .410 ... same reason
they just look so cool , Wanted Dead or Alive like Josh Randall carried (almost) !!! ... it's hard to believe they are getting away with selling them ... Joe's probly going to outlaw them in an exceutive order soon ...he's giddy with success of the passage of a new gun control law ...Look Out ...Let's go Brandon .

I could like to acquire a .34/44 outdoorsman, and or a .22 outdoorsman.
I love the Americana and image of the outdoor sportsman of those golden ages...that's all I got.

Now on the lookout for an early 686 with 6" barrel
I'm still trying to contact the gentleman that I sold my 629 ND to .
He did say he'd call me if he ever wanted to sell it, but maybe he lost my number. I'd like to confirm with him before I buy another
I have shorter barrel versions of both but 6" is nice for slow fire target Thursday nights
I really regret not buying other guns when I had the opportunity ,
I always had a want to make a 8 3/8" 629 with a scope like the Lord Humongous had on Road Warrior , I also really wanted a custom 4 1/4" 617, probably not gonna happen now
A Luger , a Webley , Colt Thunderer and Lightnings so many …
I was messaged by a stranger on a gun board that I frequent , telling me we will still be able to export firearms into the US if they are a certain vintage ?
I have yet to investigate this but I sure hope it's true to save the antiques and significant firearms

Missed a 629 yesterday haggling over a $200 difference in our expectations
It was a fair condition 629 ND which I really want but it did not have correct stocks .
Gent was asking 1400 I offered 1200 neither would budge so I I chewed on it for a while and offered him 1300 but it was gone
Darn it … now I'm not seeing any 6" 629s and I realize his price was current market
There is a part of me that wants to sell everything I have at these prices lol
I could buy a new car

Took me a while to think about this because I'm pretty content with what I have. I've owned a bunch of great and collectible guns and enjoyed them but never had a K38 Smith. I would say a mint condition K38 built as close to Nov 1948 as I could get.

That's it.

Edit: looks like in a previous post I said a 4.25" Python. Oh well, I bought one last August and like it so much I added a 6" and then a 3".

Just one more though :D a K38. And then that's it, no more, I promise (fingers crossed).

Cimarron Lightning, 3 1/2" barrel in 38 special. Had planned to buy several years ago, then Covid and lockdown, and now nothing available…listed as not in stock on their web site. Saw a few on different auction sites, but don't want one that bad to pay double msrp. Guess I'll just have to wait it out.

A little thread drift here---------------
Maybe y'all could get together up there and spend your money on new Canadian Government Officials. If that is possible

Well, I'm not sure we can order a new " ruling class" from a catalogue lol
A lot of people I know are donating painfully large sums of money to the NFA .
Most citizens don't even know that this ban is coming , there is very little mention of it in media , so there is little chance of organizing outraged voters , besides there is so much division in this country I bet half wouldn't care that the rights of over 2 million Canadians are being trampled , actually it's the rights of all Canadians being stripped .

I have just started mentoring another new shooter and she was surprised and a little angry that she might not be able to purchase a handgun .I've told her to try regardless , government can move slowly sometimes ,she might get lucky .
Wait times on PAL is over 6 months though ,as the rcmp feign staff shortages and " higher than normal call volume" 🙄

Hello all, as many of you know I am a Canadian.
I have enough ready cash to buy one more nice handgun
My first thought is a colt SAA as I have never owned one but there are a number of S&W that are on the "the list"
What would you all get if you only had enough time and money to buy 1 ?[/QUOTE

Buy whatever you want. If this law passes you will be the last person to enjoy having it.

I recently found myself in a similar situation.

New Jersey just changed its laws to make getting a permit to purchase a handgun even more cumbersome, but existing permits were not revoked. I had one permit left from before the law changed and I figured it might be awhile before I figured out how to jump through the hoops of getting another permit. I got a nickel 39-2 from a Forum member. Not sure why except it was pretty, in excellent condition, it's 9mm and had the original box. It's at my local FFL waiting for the NICS to clear (takes three to four days in New Jersey).

I'd take that money and the money raised from selling a few more guns, sell the castle and move to the US - go south or even west to Alaska - after a short time, you can start buying guns again in most locations....from a friend in a parking lot with cash and no ID's even.

Many say "we can't move" but most are not really in that position, just not motivated to do so. Certainly there are unique situations like medical care for a loved one, etc but in most cases people should just move. Can you imagine what would occur if a large percentage of the areas revenue just up and moved away? California, Washington and Oregon will be in the same position in the near future to make this decision.

If I were staying, I'd drop that coin on a cannon for the front yard so I'd be properly armed when it's time to dump the tea into the harbor.
