If you could only own 1 S&W revolver?

Self defense guns are a dime a dozen. Considering that, my one and only S&W would be a 1956 5 screw .44 MAGUNM in the clamshell, with everything it came with from the factory, UNFIRED.

Well, it definitely wouldn't be the Elvis model...

Any K-frame 4-incher 6-shot built from 1957 to 1982; name it for me if you like.

If I knew I was going to actually huint with it, deer, bears, elk etc and everything smaller including self defense, it would be a 4" Model 57 or Model 647. The 41 Mag is a great compromise.

If I never intended to hunt big game and the "biggest" thing that might be encountered is people as a Self Defense gun and on down, it would be a Model 19 or a Model 66 either with 4" barrel.

If you could only own 1 S&W revolver, what model would you choose?
Mine would be a 4" model 66 with "Coke Bottle" grips.

Depends on the use. Best all around use is probably still a medium frame stainless revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, such as the Model 66 or 686 with 4 inch barrel and round butt.

IF I could have only one...

1989 Model 625-2 w/5" barrel

I love how it feels in my hand...

The second S&W I ever purchased, would be the first choice - Model 19, 4" bbl. The ultimate, all-around winner for me, and so it seems for a LOT of you others, as well.

Or the last one, a 66, 2-1/2". Or maybe the one before that, M27 - 4", with Pachmayer grips. Or, maybe the 6" M19, or the 6" M27 , , , or - - -

For me, a Registered Magnum.

Realistically, a 686SSR, and I already have it. :)
