I have four, each pair is almost switchable. Bullseye and 231, Unique and Universal. I have 296 and 110, but since I don't load much magnum any more, I'll ignore the third pair.
Longshot and universal! I shoot mostly shotguns.....if I could pick a runner up its bullseye by far , but I somehow ordered a 4lbs jug of tight group a few weeks ago so along with my 4lbs jug of IMR blue ...hand guns are covered.
...as everything I own shoots IMR4895 from very mild to very wild. Pistol is tougher, because I have and use a lot of different pistol powders, thanks to the shortage.
I suppose Unique would be my choice for overall pistol powder and if I could have two, I'd add 2400.
Unique and 231. I do almost no rifle loading any more and Unique will give you a useable (though not perfect) load for pretty much any metallic handgun cartridge.
NOWADAYS, I can use a medium pistol powder for 'magnum' loads because I haven't shot full magnum loads for some time. It seems that at my age I can do without the 'fun' of shooting full magnum loads. So I could narrow it down to two powders after all. Unique for pistol and some reduced rifle loads and 4895 for medium to full rifle loads. Now, what am I going to do with the 1/2 dozen other powders I accumulated during the last shortage?
