Just had to share this, from the same county where the 16 bales of hay was stolen....
The County Sheriff's Department says an effort to steal a bridge Wednesday morning was foiled by a torch cutting through a hidden methane gas line in one of the support pipes.
The sheriff's department was called after one of the torches being used to try and cut up the bridge ruptured the gas line that was carrying methane gas away from an oil rig.
There was no fire or explosion, but the leak was apparently enough to scare those off who were trying to cut up the bridge. The Sheriff says they left their cutting torch and tanks behind. So far they have not been located.
The sheriff believes they were planning to cut up the bridge to sell the metal as scrap.
