In keeping with some of the car threads...

I had 1964 Chrysler 300 rag top with a 383 interceptor had it to 120 mph, floated like a boat on a smooth lake.Scared the **** out of me. I had a 1970 Mustang Boss 351 fast, at speed it was lite and felt loose, after a couple of 100 mph trips I keep it around at 70-80 mph.

The fastest car I've driven (back in the very early 70's) was a Plymouth Barracuda that had a 440/six pack and Hurst Shifter (440 cubic inches and 3, 2 barrel carbs). The owner (a neighborhood friend back then) "blue-printed" the engine, had installed Mallory Ignition, and a lot of other tweaks. Can't remember his time trials for 0 - 60 or the 1/4 mile however the car was actually scary fast!

The fastest M/C I've ever driven was about 2 years ago and it was an old Kawasaki ZX Rice Rocket - and man was it fast!

Vermont titled..1/2 ton of fun.. Ariel Atom2. Shown without street fenders and lights (track day..) Fastest street bike..Suzuki B-King. Dirt bike: Husqvarna WR450.

I owned two Vipers. First one totaled at Mid Ohio. The second one, driving back to Phoenix from east Texas saw a tick over 180 on a deserted stretch of I10.

As for motorcycles, several BMWs including a slightly modified K1200RS that topped around 130 and a Suzuki Katana that once saw 140. It may have had a bit more, but I didn't.

Hellcat Challenger 6 speed with the red key. I don't want to say how fast incase the boss or a coworker sees this post.

I currently own an '06 300 SRT.

In my younger days a friend and I used to race to work when ever we saw each other. I had a '70 Satellite that only had a 318 2bbl, but the speedometer was buried past 120 mph many times at 5:30 am and walked away from his '76 Cordoba with a 400 every time.

Bike: Not mine, but I did some work on friends Ninja 600 ( an '86 I think) Turned a corner on a back road in 1st and started banging gears, lost my hat at 100 mph. Turned back to retrieve it and saw how quick it went from almost nothing to 100 and realized I could never own one. ( yes, no helmet! Just a ball cap. Young and DUMB)

The quickest car I have owned was a 1975 Corvette. It had a built solid cam 383 stroker motor, a 3200 rpm stall speed torque converter, a Fairbanks Racing turbo 400 tranny, and 4:11 gears. That car was quick, and a beast off the line and in the 1/4 mile.

Fastest car is probably my 1995 Corvette. Supposed to be a 172 / 175 mph car, depending on what magazine you believe. Had it up to 150 mph one time, and chickened out. It was still pulling pretty good though.

Quickest bike is probably my hard tail chopper. Weighs next to nothing, just frame and motor - a built 100 inch motor with a 6 speed. Way quicker than any stock Harley, and would blow away my only Jap bike I ever had, a 1982 Honda 750f.

Used to have a 1969 Camaro that was originally a 6cyl. car that I converted to a warmed over big block with big gears. That car was an adventure, as it was about impossible to get it to really hook up. Great though if you wanted to stomp on it at 40 mph., and smoke the tires while going sideways...:)

Took a new C-7 Corvette for a test drive once, but the salesman wouldn't let me have any fun...:(

Back in the 1980's when I was a trooper, we used Ford Crown Vics. Cars had smogged out 351's. People used to be impressed with the car, asking about the "Police Package", and debating what secret go fast mods they had. I used lie with a straight face, didn't want them to know that they would usually top out at about 100 mph., then over heat. They got a little better in the later 80's. They did sound decent when you flipped the air cleaner cover over too enhance the sound of the carb sucking in air.

My stock 2012 Grand Sport is rated at a somewhat tame by todays standards 436hp, and is fairly quick.
Only I, and the NSA, know what I’ve had it up to.

1974 Yamaha RD350A. From stoplight to stoplight fastest thing in town. Shut it down at 115 on the highway. Waaaaay too light for that kind of speed for me. Felt like a fly in a high wind. Foolish things I did on that thing it is a wonder I am alive.

...I own a 2001 Yamaha R1...180 mph capable...I've seen 150 on the speedo...

...in high school I had a 283 Corvette engine in my 1947 Jeep CJ-2...less than 2000 pounds...5.38 rear end gears...nothing could keep up between stop lights...took it to downtown Denver on Friday and Saturday nights around 1970...raced between lights on 15th...16th...and 17th streets...penny ante gamblers placing bets on the sidewalks called me Willy...because of the "Willys" brand embossed on the windshield frame and tailgate...

...one of my friends back then had a big brother who owned a 1964 Vette with the 375 horse fuel injection 327...and 4.56 posi rear...it was quick too...his brother would lend it to us on occasion...and we would blast up Lookout Mountain with it...

My Porsche 928 S4 was not the fastest car I ever drove but it was the fastest one I ever drove for any distance. My daughter was attending Western Illinois and my wife and I would visit her on weekends. We'd leave in the wee morning hours with no traffic and take I 5 West. I would routinely drive the Porsche at around 130 while sipping on a cup of coffee. The Porsche was rock solid at that speed and it was apparent that it was designed for Autobahn use!

I had my '89 Vette up to 135 before I backed off, don't know what it would really do.

My current ride I bought 2 months ago is an '09 Vette, I've heard it will do somewhere in the 180's but I'm too old and wise(?) now to test that number.
